...early last week after he visited the staff thought they had Alstork. Something happened to make him go to Illinois, but they've been working on alternative plans.

Tremont Waters is the alternative plan. Here's his video.

He's a Top 50 recruit who was committed to Georgetown but dumped out of there when Thompson was fired. It sounds like Georgetown is still in it along with Creighton and Western Kentucky, and Indiana apparently, but a bunch of crystal balls on 247 are showing Waters to LSU today.

He's 5-10 or 5-11 and 160 pounds dripping wet, but the kid can break ankles. He'd be your point guard.

Here's a USA Today piece from last week including him.

He looks like a high-IQ floor general with great vision and a reliable jumper, but just doesn't have a ton of athleticism.

I'd take a guy like that any day over a low IQ guy with all the measurables.

Hope Wade can snag him!

Is Jerry Meyer still plugged in to basketball recruiting, he's one of the guys that made a prediction for LSU.

I'd rather him than one year of Alstork

Hell yea. I'll take a top 50 recruit over a grad transfer.

Edit: I just watched the video and the dude is impressive. Quick hands, great vision, great handles and a smooth shot. Didn't seem to be too aggressive scoring but the kind of guy that can lead the SEC in assist one day

Basketball cb's are kinda useless. One guy puts his in then a bunch of people just jump in. Ex. after the Duke writer and Meyer made their prediction, a Rutgers writer made his prediction. Dude probably has no idea what's going on, but seen there was a new prediction on one of the last top 50 recruits in the 17 class and decided to jump on the train.

But the reason people all pile on is if an insider comes with info... Which means the amount doesn't mean much, but the individual who puts a selection in does. Meyer is normally pretty locked in on these guys.

If you are asking me if I'd want a top 10 PG getting onto him this late in the year I'd overwhelmingly say hell yes. Pickings are slim right now but a guy like this can lead your team in assists for 4 years (size doesn't translate to NBA).

All the twitter chatter on him all week has been he is headed to Western Kentucky... F-ing Stansbury....

He is one of 2 top 100ESPN guys left on the board so he would be a huge pickup.

Evan Daniels said W Kentucky isn't recruiting him anymore. They have 15 players on Scholly right now.

The first guy to CB him to LSU was Andrew Slater. I've been researching him. He is a national recruiting guy who seems to have his hands in a lot of places.

Will keep looking for more info on it.

To be fair he has out recruited us in our own state recently. I don't see that happening moving forward but you at least have to acknowledge the fact that he's torn up Louisiana.

Coach Wade somehow continues to one-up himself. Just when you think he can't possibly do anything else with this recruiting class, he gets in on a top 50 player at the 11th hour. We have struck gold with Coach Wade.

Let's not count our chickens before they hatch... We are being connected to Waters but unless we get him, nothing has changed from the previous regime. Not hard to be connected to someone, it's hard to actually get them.

Im hoping we can get this one for sure though.

The three guys who CB'd Waters to LSU have 74%, 73% and 81% accuracy though so that's pretty solid stuff....

I may have been misunderstood. I wasn't implying that Coach Wade was actually going to sign him. I just meant that being in on a top 50 player this late in the game is an amazing accomplishment for a coach who has only been here for two months. Especially considering the young man wasn't even considering LSU before Wade got here.

My point is that if this is what Coach Wade can do in only two months, I can't wait to see what he can do in a year. The future of LSU basketball is so promising. I can't help being excited.
