2020 QB Max Johnson spent the weekend with the staff in Baton Rouge. His Dad is former Bucs QB Brad Johnson. We're now in prime position for him from what I was told. He and Finley together would be a hell of a QB haul for 20.

Thought Finley was told no other QB would be pursued.

He was not. That was a case of a recruit and his Dad hearing what they wanted to hear and not listening to the whole conversation.

I am not crazy about Finley.

That is in no way a knock on the young man. I hope he proved me wrong. I felt the same way about Brandon Harris when I saw him at Parkway. Hopefully we have learned to develop QB's as Finley is a project.

I noticed Finley had a 47% completion percentage this season... not exactly a great stat considering he’s against high school competition, I would expect at least 60%.

Finley is very raw. All the pieces are there, but he will need development to get to where he needs to be IMO. Someone like Johnson that has an ex-NFL QB for a Dad and grew up around the game will be more ready. His arm isn't as good as Finley's no doubt, but he is more polished of a passer at this point from what I can tell.

Is that Dad/Richt relationship pretty strong from their FSU days?

Well, we all know LSU is a QB development machine.

Considering they are Brother-in-law's, I'd say it's ok lol

I’m hearing Finley might be going to IMG next year, if he does, we might get a better idea how good he could be. He definitely has a long way to go IMO.

Watch out for Caleb Holstein. He is putting up video game numbers at STM and is 6’5” with a big arm

When all is said and done I don't think Finley will end up signing with LSU. I think he is headed for a mid major.

So basically he won’t ever see the field here because I don’t know if you’ve noticed but we don’t develop QB’s. Brandon Harris 2.0

Finley just doesn’t have that it factor. I watched him in person a few times and I just don’t see the kid panning out. He doesn’t move well at all and from talking to people that know him well, he’s not a good teammate or leader of his team. I’m sorry, but if you are an SEC caliber QB, there’s no way in hell your high school team should go 2-8.

Who was the last qb that LSU developed? Just asking.
