TigersOfGeauxld, that's hilarious. The chairman of Rivals.com graduated from Gumpland. There is an obvious bias. Another great example is when Demetrius Hart, a APB from Florida went from 200 to 18 overall once Alabama offered him. If you want realistic unbiased projections, visit MaxPreps.com

Sylve was rated exactly what he is right now prior to him even committing to Alabama.

Dee Hart moved up while committed to Michigan.

Yeah, that's always been the case. There's a reason people in that "great" state make recruiting championship t-shirts. They literally have no life outside of football.

So, recruiting services shouldn't put stock in a kid when Saban, Meyer, Brown, or Miles offers them? If those coaches continue to develop that talent, and recruit similar players to develop, is the ranking not justified?

I thought Sylve was around 75-100 before committing to Alabama

In Alabama, any excuse to make t-shirts is justified.

while you say south plaquemines facilities are not up to par, then you have no clue what white castle facilities look like, believe me i have more weights in my house than they do. so facilities are a wash when talking about s. plaquemine and white castle but i venture to say we will see who has the better career. Ronald or Bradley. And we will see how that speed translate at the next level. by the way, in all of college football how many so called speed guys are there?????

I don't think he was in the Rivals 100. He's 184 in the Rivals 250 right now.

That's not a real response. Your hatred isn't veiled heavily enough.

One, i don't believe in the rivals bias.

o, recruiting services shouldn't put stock in a kid when Saban, Meyer, Brown, or Miles offers them?
I think it should be minimal. The recruiting services are suppose to self evaluate these kids and base their ranking on what they see and how they project them to grow. Just because Saban, Miles, or Brown is recruiting them doesn't mean the kid's talent level all of sudden increased. Mo Claiborne didn't just become a superstar prospect because LSU offered him. His athletic ability never changed.

If those coaches continue to develop that talent,
Shouldn't have any effect on their status IMO. I think development is important but the sites should have already factored this into their rating. We see this when they call recruits "project" players or can't miss talents. Rival, etc. shouldn't rank a kid a higher star because they think Saban will develop him better then another coach. It should solely be ranked on the kids skill set and possible potential regardless.

We can sit here and talk about Rivals' bias all we want. But what does it really matter if Alabama continues to develop talent and compete for titles?

The thread was about Sylve. Rivals's infamous "Bama Bump" was bound to come up at some point. C'mon.

I don't think he got a bump on any of the sites, but how on earth does ESPN justify their ranking him over Landry?

Agreed. A lot more needs to be filled than another WR. Nice to get the thread back on track, too.

And Louie T, love the sig pic!

What animosity? No one has said anything negative.

He chose Bama, and we're filling up and numbers are tight this year...Oh well.

How does him wanting to switch means the staff wants him too? Unless of course he DOES switch, then obviously the staff wanted him and accepted his commitment, not gonna happen though.

Maybe animosity wasn't the right word. More like the whole 'well we don't want him anyway deal'. And I meant if he's on the fence then that means the staff wants him bc he wouldn't go from being solid to Bama to shaky if we weren't still recruiting him and told him we don't have room

Not sure why you trying to make it Ronald vs BS... I hope they both succeed at the next level.. If Ronald reaches his potential it helps LSU which makes me happy.. And if BS reaches his it makes me happy cuz he is fam.. So its win win for me..

BS might be track fast but he is a football player first and he has football speed as well... And I always heard "you cant teach speed" ..
