I'm talking about within recent history. It seems every year there are ups and downs and a few guys who we would love to have that disappoint. It always seems though, that when this day approaches we are always left with a quality class and are very happy to have who we have as tigers. 1/2 stung, but today has been a great day.

When you stop and take a look at every class as a whole after NSD it seems like lsu always has more to be happy about than upset.

Can't wait for the 2014 year to kick off and see all these new tigers in P&G!!!

Saban left, Miles came in. I think 15 commits?

Got Perriloux though

It was more about timing than Miles tho. Saban bailed and left Miles with a month to recruit.

That was a tough position for Miles.

He has flourished since

People bitched like crazy about the 2012 class. It was right after the debacle on 1/9/12 and to start things off, Toshiro Davis stood us up.

That was a numbers thing, had nothing to do with coaching change

2002 was bad, I mean bad. Saban wouldn't deny rumors he was leaving for NFL - everyone used that against LSU

I don't ever remember thinking, "oh man we are in trouble with this class coming in. We missed out on way too much of what we needed."

Of course this class had guys you wish you would have gotten, but our loses were at WR- a position we are fine at. CB- a position we are loaded at. S- a position we ended up with a better player at. OL- probably the biggest loss, from a player who may end up being possible to replace, but we still got needed guys here. DL- same as OL.

2009 was #2 ranked. 2008 wasnt so great, after an NC year.

I was disappointed in 2012 I think. I forget the year. Anyway it's the year gunner keil flipped and made us lose on the OL miller. This class never really impressed me.

WR Corey Webster, Gramercy, La. (St. James)
DT Brad West, Gurley, Ala. (Madison County)
LB Marcus Yanez, Bastrop, La. (Bastrop)

This group won a bunch of football games for "meh" - maybe they were underwhelming at the time, but Adrian Mayes was one of the earliest signing day surprises I can recall - I had really only been following recruiting since Dinardo came in.

I'll always remember that class for the Adrian Mayes flip (from Nebraska) and that was the time Lavalais' commitment finally counted.
