Has Football recruiting been permanently damaged by Jan. 9?

Scout has LSU @ #15 w/ teams like Mizzou @ #10, Auburn @ #12 W/ only 8 commits and, for crying out loud, Penn State @ #13 w/ only 8. 247 is not much different. I think our image was seriously tarnished and maybe irreversibly. I think only top, especially oos kids that were too young to care anything about that game will look at LSU objectively. Kids aren't stupid. They know who was to blame for the embarrassment of 1/9. What say you?

Dude, it's May.

The only thing that may be damaging is the constant posts like this.

But, to answer your question, the quidditch recruiting will pick up within the next few months. It's not like Harry Potter's come along every day.

You should seriously question who your team of rooting interest should be. If recruiting national titles are your thing, there's a team in Tuscaloosa that is open for registration

of course, how could we ever recover from going 13-1 and playing for a national championship? no one would want to play for a school like that! :

No seriously, I understand that it's just May and a lot can change in a hurry, especially with teenagers. I guess I made the question a little more fatalistic than I meant to, but I can't help but get that vibe lately.

I say if you believe that then just go ahead and sell your tickets and see whatchu can get for all your LSU memorabilia on eBay because obviously your view of LSU has been permanently damaged and you'll never be able to look at the Tigers in the same light. Seriously though, have you followed any recruiting news since January 9th. There are several big names with serious interest in LSU. Nchemdiche, Prevot, Williams, Smith, Beckwith are all names with interest and I don't think their view of LSU has been permanently damaged. What about Adam Taylor the running back out of Katy, TX? He wanted to commit to the Tigers last week and fall in line with the excellent backs LSU already has on its roster. Those are just a few of the names that I can think of, not to mention all of the current commits, and countless others who have LSU high on their list of schools they would like to attend.

So no I do not think that the National Championship game has done any permanent damage other than to the weak minded Tiger fans who believe we will always be living in Saban's shadow. If they would do some research and digging they would see that their are indeed brighter days in the future of LSU and I'm not just talkin about next year with Zach Mettenberger at quarterback.

We signed the #1 class after going 8-5(I know it was the year after we won the title).

You honestly think an 11-2 season and a 13-1 season are going to put LSU in a hard time when 8-5 and 9-4 didn't?

LSU played in the National Title game. I am beginning to realize how stupid a large part of the LSU fan base is with posts like this. You seriously should get yourself checked out if you think LSU had some type of disappointing season last year that would hurt recruiting. LSU exceeded all expectations last year and won a conference title.

But you have proven yourself to be part of the LCD crowd.

I guess my true point is not class rankings or star numbers or any of that, and only time will tell the truth, but what are young players thinking about our couching staff, and the head coach in particular? I love my Tigers and always will. I've suffered through some awful times in the eighties, nineties weren't a whole lot better, but now expectations have been raised. The coaching decisions these past five years or so have been hard to believe.

Are you serious or just trolling? LSU is having its most successful period EVER under Miles. I really hope you are trolling.

LSU JUST PLAYED IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

They also have a great chance of returning.

So yeah, the coach sucks

a little. Which a lot of people think will be solved by a national championship in the upcoming season.

No, no trolling. I'm serious about the future of this football team, but I'm also objective. Also, thanks to the last poster. That's what I was looking for. A National Championship this year will go along way toward healing 1/9.

if LSU's recruiting is permanently damaged what of the other 12 teams that were embarrassed by the same LSU team? And conversely, the recruiting of the teams that these 12 beat.

See how stupid, your post looks now??
