There's only one school in the SEC having to give up schollys due to cheating while recruiting.

Which school is that?

It actually wasn't cheating while recruiting. The recruit had already signed his LOI. He tried to move to BR before his scholarship kicked in giving him free housing. So, a retard assistant coach got him an apartment and paid for it.

The player never stepped foot on the football field and the coach was fired as soon as our investigation concluded.

I am actually expecting the NCAA to reduce our punishment and give us the two scholarships back once they've finished reviewing the case.

LSU has integrity they report themselves.. Auburn is lying bastards hiding behind a white sheet they call god..

Easy there...i'm as big an LSU fan as there is but i would not be so bold as to say LSU is 100% clean....you just never know what's going on behind closed doors

LOL at 'integrity to report themselves". You had no choice but to report your COACH was cheating in hope the NCAA doesn't hit you with worse sanctions.

it's truly DISGUSTING how f'ing obvious it is that the NCAA is just turning a blind eye

really? Because there are stories floating out there that Cam Netwon's dad asked Miss State for money?

You don't KNOW what happened anymore than I do. I'm not saying nothing happened, but the NCAA could not suspend a player with out rock, solid proof.

We will see what happens with Auburn, but that nothing has happened yet doesn't mean anything.

assistant coach made a stupid decision. Again, he was fired and the player never stepped on the field and was kicked off the team. Read my post above.

This is hardly comparable to paying more than $200,000 to lure a player away from Miss. State.

Auburn admitted to the NCAA that Cam's dad asked for money and ruled Cam during the season. That's proof enough. The NCAA then skirted around their own rules to make him eligible again.

Don't act like this didn't happen. Auburn told the NCAA that it happened.

ETA: The point is if anyone thinks that because nothing happened with Netwon during the season means AU is free and clear is kidding themselves. They may never get the hammer, but that is yet be determined, if they are half as dirty and brazen as people are alleging in this thread, they'll get nailed sooner or late

That's what happened at SMU.

After nothing came from the Cam Newton mess, is it really so hard to believe that AU boosters feel untouchable?

The "Cam Newton mess" isn't over, they just got a ruling on what was known at the time. The NCAA hasn't dropped anything concerning Auburn. The NCAA takes forever to uncover scandal because they have no real subpoena power, no real power outside the CFB world. They can't compel the boosters to do much of anything.

They'll just investigate until someone squeals, if someone squeals.

If the boosters feel bulletproof, it isn't because of the Newton ruling. It's because there billionaires and the NCAA is going to need a lot of help, or luck, to get the truth.

I know for a fact that when Chizik was DC under Tuberville, he nestled up real close to Bobby Lowder. It was Lowder's influence that got him the job two years ago when NOBODY at Auburn wanted him anywhere near the program after going 5-19 at Iowa State. And we all know how squeaky clean that guy is. Interestingly, Lowder never got along with Tubs because Tubs didn't want to let that slimebag anywhere near the program (along with Lowder's other slimebag buddy, Pat Dye, for whom Auburn has named their field and who almost brought Auburn the death penalty).

The interesting thing about Chizik's stint at Iowa State is how the media really tried to downplay how terrible that team was under his reign there. In the buildup to the BCS title game last year, there was more than one story about how he really couldn't have success at Iowa State blah blah and it wasn't his fault because the situation there was so bad blah blah and that's why they didn't do well. It was such a crock of crap it wasn't even funny. Iowa State wasn't just kind of bad, during his second season there they did NOT beat a team in the FBS. They went 0-10 against teams in the FBS that year. The following year (after he was gone), they were much more competitive, beating a Nebraska team that played in the Big 12 title game and going 3-5 in their Big 12 schedule. They won 6 games against FBS schools that year.

This guy stinks to high heaven and I will be very surprised if Auburn doesn't crash and burn in the next two years.

Not to be a sore a** LSU fan but I truly felt Auburn was a 8-4 team last year at best. Cam Newton made that much of a difference. I honestly think Malzahn is not that great either. A good quarterback can make an offense. I told my buddy who is a Fla fan that I was not sold on CUM's offense. That a quarterback like Tebow just made it run so well. Well look what happened when Tebow left. I think the same thing will happen at Auburn unless they get an exceptional QB to step in next year. Look at how bad Auburn's offense was the season before without Newton.

do you really want to compare a situation where 1 school thought a kid was ineligible, and sat him until a dtermination was mad, and a team who had an ineligible kid and played him for 2/3 of the season until the NCAA cleared him?
