On Wednesday, LSU offered Hightower High (Missouri City, Texas) three-star prospect Caleb Douglas, a 6-foot-3, 185-pounder who finished his senior season with 51 catches for 984 yards and eight touchdowns.

Those are impressive stats. It's cliche to say he's underrated but apparently he's only been playing WR 2 years.

Hankton and Cain are going to pay big dividends for us in Texas. Even Frank Wilson should give us a big presence from his time at UTSA and Mcneese.

Kid is long with huge arse strides.
His hudl seemed like they play some smaller schools.

Is it me but this staff seems like they don't give a hoot about stars, but rather trust their own evaluation and judgement when it comes to players.

He almost reminds me of Brandon Lafell. Similar HS tape.
Pros- Tall and long, fights well for the ball, big red zone threat, good blocker
Cons- not particularly explosive, not great in and out of cuts, not a burner and looks like he’s got some technique work to do on routes

He's been offered by Texas, Notre Dame, Florida and Georgia Tech on top of us in the last month. He's definitely a late bloomer.

I think it's more they are picking from what's left this cycle. I don't think he gets offered if we have Anderson or Preston on-board if being honest.

I would hope so.
But then again the whole recruiting industry (Rivals, 247,etc) only exists because people race to see what ranking other people who don't coach football give players.

He has already been offered.

I don't know.
Lafell wasn't as long as this kid.
It's hard to tell from those hudl highlights.
Seems like he would just be more of a 50/50 and slant player. I think football is moving more towards the zavion thomas type players.
Guess we will see what happens.

Did you watch his HS tape? He was long, lanky and kinda gangly

Hightower is right outside of my neighborhood. They have been down lately due to redistricting but still put out some good players. They are a big school that plays legit teams.

I'm saying he doesn't get offered if the in state WRs we missed on did. There's a reason he got an offer 2 weeks prior to NSD.

He was committed to USC until they brought in Riley. He's one of the hottest targets right now with ND, UF, Texas, LSU all offering recently.
