If that's the case, is Malzahn coming back a sign that we're alright

Nope means Vandy said is if sanctions came on Malzahn's timewatch, his Contract would be null and void. So he came back to Auburn and will naively hope the medicine never comes.

I wonder if there is a rule for Not-for-Profit organizations giving kids money.

I can just visualize boosters from a school or from many schools "Donating" money to a NFP organization. Remember that donations are usually cash, not traceable, not taxed, and most importantly anonymous.

Then that organization decides which members of its organization (HS athletes), need to be helped to make it through tough times.

I mean its all about helping those in need right. And who needs more help ($$$$,IPOD,Cars,Free Apt. Rent) than poor HS kids (football players) trying to overcome there situation.

cough...Sean Nelson....Cough, cough

Lorio ain't scared:

“How did players from Thibodaux, La., become so interested in Auburn?” Lorio asks. “That’s a really good question. Trooper Taylor and Sean Nelson know.”

Lorio says several coaches and students saw Robinson show off cash and a new iPhone at school after a visit to Auburn. Robinson wrote in a Facebook message in July that he got the phone when "I came to Alabama."

It suggests that Auburn and boosters work with religious "fronts" to funnel money to recruits because it offers limted accountablility. He's got some damn good information to back it up too.

You would be surprised how many "back room" and "underhanded" deals involve religion, religious organizations, religious leaders and high ranking "flock members" of the church.

This shite kills me.

Really accentuates how pathetic many of our fans were when Saban first arrived in Tuscaloosa and started recruiting lights out.

You can't even argue with it -- there's no point. It is fun, however, to be in a situation where other people care. It means you're definitely succeeding.

And to the guy who Cecil embarrassed us by going to the game, you can't obviously be serious? I didn't know having your dad buy a ticket to a game is an embarrassment but oh well

It wouldn't have been an issue normally, but Auburn made a statement before the game saying he wouldn't be attending. The pregame show announcers made a big deal about how unselfish his dad was being by not attending. Then he shows up on the field right after the game ends.

First Cecil said he didn't ask for money, than admitted he did... just not from Auburn.

There's a pattern of saying one thing until the truth comes out and then the story changes.

Why should anyone believe Auburn?

Two things -

Since when did facebook become a legit source for anything?

And as far as the coach at Thibodaux is concerned, it sounds to me like he's pissed if a kid doesn't go to LSU. That's not how a coach should act, imo. A high school coach should let the kid decide where they want to go. If he's an LSU fan, fine. He can encourage a kid to go to LSU, but if he takes offense to kids going somewhere like Auburn, he needs to rethink that position.

Did he ever think that maybe kids like Reed and Robinson are all of a sudden interested in Auburn because Tuberville and co. never even tried to recruit kids from there? I can't remember a single player from the state of Louisiana coming to Auburn while Tuberville was the coach, much less him really recruiting anyone in LSU's backyard. There may have been a few, but none come to mind. These new coaches are aggressive and not deterred to go into any area in the south and recruit kids, even if it's another schools stomping grounds.

You can talk about Trooper and paying kids all you want, but there is the possibility that even though these kids may have grown up LSU fans, they really found themselves more comfortable with the Auburn coaching staff. Maybe they got to Auburn on their official visit and realized they didn't want to stay so close to home. Maybe they realized LSU wasn't for them during their recruiting process. It's not completely out of the question that is a possibility.
