While Richardson committed to the Vols during his official visit last weekend, he steadfastly maintained in media interviews he remained pledged to the Gators. That, Kiffin said, was part of Tennessee's plan.
OMG!!! Did Kiffin really say that? Wow, I didn't think I could dislike anyone more than Myer but Kiffin hasn't even coached a game yet and he already has jumped to the top spot on my "coaches I hate the most" list!!
It's one thing to be that underhanded and do that kind of F U to another program but to actually brag about it. Wow, not only is he arrogant, he's not that smart. That kind of shite is going to come back to him big time!!

its life, jai did the same thing, we signed players who im sure gave other coaches their pledge

Haha some of you guys wishing him injuries are fricking PATHETIC.
I do agree that what he and his dad did was pretty selfish and immature towards LSU, by saying he was solid to LSU about a week ago, when he really knew he wanted to go to Tennessee. Maybe Kiffin told him to remain silent, maybe he didnt.
Kiffin is digging his own grave before he has even coached a single fricking minute of an SEC game. He has SCar, UF, LSU, and Bama pissed at him, and there is no doubt in my mind there will be some running up of the score against Tenn in the next few seasons...
Hey, Janzen, best of luck at Tennessee. If you choose to play your college ball at a school that has shown nothing but mediocrity on the football field over the past few years, and turn down the title contender that is LSU, so be it. If you say one of the consequences of Peveto leaving LSU was LSU losing you to UT, I really think we at LSU got the best of that deal. The reason Tenn was such a good defense last year was Mr. Chavis. If you didnt know, he is now at LSU along with one of the best DB coaches in the nation in Mr. Cooper. Have fun being on an average team.
Janzen.

Thanks for reaffirming your commitment recently, Janzen.

This whole thing sounds like Kiffin taking a huge jab at LSU. If JJ knew for weeks that he was going to UT, Kiffin could only benefit it he told JJ to not decommit from LSU. Therefore, LSU thinks he's still signing with them and doesn't waste time looking elsewhere for a CB. Kiffin is just digging his own grave in the SEC.
well you know who taught him how to do that

"You can't understand how hard this is to get done. Eddie had this set up at 7 o'clock in the morning, they (Richardson's aunts) got the papers signed by the kid," said Kiffin, hired Dec. 1 to replace the fired Phillip Fulmer. "They didn't go do it at the school because they knew somebody at the school was going to screw it up, the fax machine wouldn't work or they would have changed the signatures. All the things that go on in Pahokee, now. The aunts took it over to a junior high, found a fax machine that worked and faxed them over to us at 7 o'clock and I kept it in a drawer till their 1 o'clock press conference."
What a dumbarse for coming out and admitting this kind of crap is being orchestrated from behind the scenes. I know other coaches do it, but its very stupid to come out and admit it.

Kiffin is one cocky dude
And stupid too ! He threw " the kid "
and his family under the bus by revealing the
conspiracy publicly , just to satisfy his ego!
Then he totally insults the town of Pahokee and the school ! GOOD LUCK on his next recruiting trip at that school!

Sounds awfully similiar to the story on the espn blog about the kid out of florida. It seems tenn encouraged multiple kids to not make their intentions public until signing day and not back off of their original commitment. I was actually some what of a fan of kiffin until now. I think he is dirty. Don't think fat phil would have done anything at this low of a level.

Sad thing is, some kid did not get a scholarship because of this liar.
It is one thing to change your mind at the last minute. I have no problem with him switching if he wanted to go to Tenn. But, it's another to lie about it and keep another DB from getting offered.
Pathetic.

He wants to be a coach, how is it that fricked up?
He could still coach with a fricked up knee
And what the frick was up with the article that came out 2/1/09 stating he was solid to LSU
I agree that stringing LSU along wasn't the most classy thing to do, but hoping he blows his knee out is overboard.

Some of you people are sick. Just because an 18 year old changes his mind you have to be so unbelieveable hateful. I hope future recruits don't read this board and see the verbal abuse a player takes when he goes elsewhere. Pitiful! Pitiful!

i didn't want to get banned and i know it's wrong, but i kinda hope the same right now
As a person who has blown out a knee:

I dont wish him ill, just wish he wouldve made his intentions known, out of consideration for LSU.

He doesn't hold a candle to Patrick Peterson anyway. Let him go wear fig orange if he wants, and his dad is a loser for using his kid to advance. He will get a gig at a large school somewhere because of this, you can book it.

Redstick, chill a bit. Some idiots wishing injury, etc., are just that, idiots. But most people here have no issue with JJ deciding to go to Tenn (though rightfully question the motive and logic behind such a decision). He can go wherever he likes and most, like me, would wish him the best. However, the problem is the TIMING of it and the WAY it was handled AFTER NSD was over thereby preventing LSU from pursuing anyone else. That's just a big FU to LSU on his way out of state and I, for one, do not appreciate it, and think the kid and his father deserve all the criticism they are getting.

HE DID NOT SIMPLY CHANGE HIS MIND DAMMIT. HIS DAD IS A NCAA COACH. SEE BELOW.
For first time in many years, LSU nation Bama Nation and Florida nation all agree on something. We all hate Kiffin and UT.
Now, what really happened in the Janzen deal.
They (UT) have had Janzen for a while, promise his dad a coaching job, in a year or so, whatever, alls fair in love war and recruiting...I am not complaining..(Just ask USC and Reggie Bush or read the book, notice the "O" connection.)
Of course, his dad is not taking the coaching job at UT this year. ( Sure to send up flags to NCAA), plus they already have a DB coach so "O" gets him a job in Ohio with a buddy.
Problem is other safety they are after Darrin Myles was looking hard at LSU, and obviously plays the same postition and would be only safety in LSU's class. So if they sign Janzen thay probably lose Myles as LSU or someone else will put press on him.
They want them both but need a rouse. They promise starting job to Janzen if he plays ball. (According to claasmates at Barbe.) His dad is a college coach so he knows the game.
LSU hears rumors Janzen to UT, but dad and son tell everyone they are firm with LSU and re-commit to Miles. They also say that they are holding their signing day ceremony until day after NSD so Mom can be there. It is all a complete lie, it is so that Myles will sign a binding LOI with UT and LSU will not press him.
UT actualy has Janzen's LOI the day before NSD and holds it so Myles doesn't know.
It works like a charm, everbody is completely fooled as Janzen is booed off the stage at his high school in Lake Charles. Probably because he lied to his coaches and all his classmates. They even have a good cover story, that the Defensive coach that recruited him left. Of course, this was known for months and is complete BS.
I assume now that his dad will move into a 500k plus house owned by a UT booster at him new job for almost nothing using the scam that the guy could not sell it and he needed it occupied for insurance purposes. (unless this story breaks)
It was brillant, evil, but brillant.
However, it doesnt work without Janzen and his dad Coach Guidry playing along. They had to reaffirm their commimment and make up the story about Mom so taht UT can hold off on releasing his LOI until after Myles signs.
So fans from other boards forgive us as we go completely nuts, but he have never been done in by a local kid like this before.
This story would make agreat SI or rivals article, hint.
The real victim is Darrin Myles.
You Bama, UGA, and Florida guys better start warning next years class. These guys are some kind of new super slick type of orange.
I cant blame them, as they really need help but fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me.
Don't believe it look at Kiffins quotes on how he got a Florida recuit from Meyers by telling the recuit to lie to Meyers about his committment. Nice guy huh?
Only in LSU situation they screwed another recruit Darrin Myles, not just a coach which makes it worse to me.
Everyone nows need to be aware of these games, and make sure your recuits are aware. Fool me once shame on me foor me twoce shame on me.
Of course, if I was recruiting against them next year I would swear they had already signed three four stars at the recruits position and maybe produce copies of their LOI's to these recuits family right to look over right before signing day and say they are pulling a "Janzen Move" again.
Those oranges suck but they are slipperly bastards.

To reaffirm the commitment like that just shows that both he and his dad have the integrity of Nick satan. I hope he enjoys playing second fiddle for his college career and may he never get a coaching job anywhere near the state of louisiana.
