Don’t, you are wrong. It matters to all athletes, especially elite ones, the difference is the weighting each athlete puts on that specific factor! Some have it really high, like Patrick Surtain did, and some not as much and that isn’t a deciding factor.

But to think it doesn’t play a roll at all proves 2 things, your were never an athlete with any talent to play at an elite level and you don’t know what you are talking about when it comes to recruiting!!!

Is what it is!

Ish was bought in September.

That's what I'd originally thought as well. Just can't wrap my head around why he'd continue to say publicly he was going where he could play with his brother, knowing bama was never going to offer Rodney. I just figured the kid was a little smarter than that.

I love details

Those details are true, so true I could literally give a shite who believes me or not! Kinda prefer nobody believes it! That way I can say to myself “I tried to tell those fools” and then laugh knowing I told them and they don’t believe me, this is awesome I am still the only one who knows and I was able to spill something I really wanted to spill!

I hate Satan, but the guy didn’t get to where he is by not being an evil genius!

Did you watch him speak on national signing day? He was either really nervous because his heart was not 100% bama or he’s not very intelligent. I honestly believe it’s a little of both. I’m not trying to bash the kid but he was being told all along what to say like a puppet to keep everyone honest.

But it sounds like the buyee tried to reneg on the contract toward the end. Then the buyee became the buyer when they were resold.

I showed my wife his commitment video later that day, and she, who roots for LSU but doesn't really follow closely at all, especially recruiting, said "poor kid is making a decision he doesn't wanna make". It was so obvious. His dad behind him comforting him, kid was near tears.

Ewww, yea I was listening to it while on a fishing trip, kid was shook. His first few words told me all I needed to know.

A little of it. Wasn't what you'd expect from a kid making a commitment. And that was another reason I thought he was serious about going to LSU and playing with his brother. A part of me wants to believe he really wanted to go to LSU and play with his brother but other people got involved and wanted the money. Maybe his parents basically sol him and his dream of playing with his brother to bama. IDK, man, it's all really speculation. Only he knows what was really going on in his mind. But body language does say a lot.

I agree with all of this. The title thing is far overstated. It's all about "me" with most recruits. $$ talk.

not saying i don't believe you, but this right here is one of the most overused phrases on this board...

i've had more than one "reliable" person turn out to be dead fricking wrong in the past... that being said, i have no reason to doubt you, i know you have coaching history, so you probably have connects that most of us don't have, so let's all hope you were given accurate information...

Then why do you never seem to hear any NFL players talk about their college titles? Why do they not stay for a 4th year for a chance at a college title even when they are on a team that has been consistently winning them lately?

I’m sure if given the choice between “go to school A, win a championship, and get drafted first round or go to school B and get drafted first round, sure, many would probably choose school A. Why wouldn’t they? But if you think wining a college championship is what motivates these top recruits, you are just being willfully ignorant. Their main concern is being drafted as high as they can to the NFL. That’s it. There is nothing more to it.

I don’t think you’d like who that would be for, lol, but that ain’t his style anyway. Clean does more for kids than people realize. Especially the under recruited kids in the state.

So what do y'all think about this scenario, because I can definitely see it happening...Ish is unhappy, leaves Bama, goes juco.

Would you take him out of juco??

I honestly think we would put a linebacker up front before we even thought about bringing sopsher here. He burned his bridge with a lot of people in this state and not because he chose to go somewhere else for college.
