That being said, Stanford doesn’t want quan and LSU doesn’t want Quan, I said that like 590 post ago. He is very thin, and he is not that good mechanically or reading deffense. Idk what this whole thread is about tbh, there is no way we offer. Period move on.

Maybe people would take you more seriously if you knew the kids fricking name. You don't have the slightest clue who the coaches are gonna offer and the last time I checked they don't have a QB committed for this class either.. if you don't like the thread get the frick out

I understand he doesn’t need a 32 to go to Vandy. He already has a full ride offer. But he’d still be taking the same classes as the general population, some of which are built to weed kids out (according to some Vandy students I met while staying there). All I’m saying is that he’s gonna have to work a lot harder academic wise at Vandy than other schools. Might impact his time spent on football? But I also think if he doesn’t go pro, then Vandy would be one heck of a place to get a education.

You have probably not read 20% of this thread. Whether the kid ever went to LSU or not, it doesn't change the fact that this is a cool story, with rare insight that we get into the recruiting process. Most here would love Quad to be good enough to end up at LSU. He might be, but he might not be, who knows. However, this thread isn't just about his recruitment to LSU.

Like someone else said, if you don't like it then just GTFO. No need to trash it up like you are doing, but it probably makes you feel like you are a bad arse and important when you say a 17 year old isn't good enough.

The average ACT score composite at Vanderbilt is a 34. he 25th percentile ACT score is 32, and the 75th percentile ACT score is 35. In other words, a 32 places you below average, while a 35 will move you up to above average. There's no absolute ACT requirement at Vanderbilt, but they really want to see at least a 32 to have a chance at being considered.

Now let’s look at the major sports average GPA, while still quite impressive, they absolutely make concessions for student athletes.......

“MAKING THE GRADECumulative 2013-14 grade-point averages for Vanderbilt's 14 scholarship athletics teams:Men's cross country - 3.712Women's golf - 3.648Women's soccer - 3.476Women's cross country - 3.416Lacrosse - 3.374Women's tennis - 3.366Bowling - 3.309Men's tennis - 3.271Swimming - 3.180Men's golf - 3.144Track and field - 3.072Men's basketball - 2.985Baseball - 2.862Football - 2.792Women's basketball - 2.792Overall: 3.094”

Sorry, didn’t mean to come off like that

BS. This is your 9th post on this page alone, all saying how you don't think he is good enough. We got it after the first post. You aren't just giving your opinion, you are shitting all over the thread, and disrespecting the kid and CoachJ at the same time by calling him "Quan" when his name is clearly in the title.

You gave your opinion, which is fine, now get out if that's all you have to add to the discussion.

Just further proves you didn't read any of the thread. Its been stated multiple times that he is no at all interested in Bama.

Authmora is right. The kid isn’t good enough to play at LSU or a majority of other big time schools.

That is not a slight against quad, it’s just fact.

However, most of y’all are right in that this is a cool story that highlights recruiting.

No need to shite on the kid, he just doesn’t have it. However, good luck to wherever he goes

You sound like you have a problem with there being 1400 posts. This is a cool thread looking into the inner workings of the recruiting process that almost all of us found interesting. To be able to follow a recruit from a 0-star unknown with only a coach on a message board putting his name out to 3-stars and pulling Power 5 offers has been a pretty cool journey to watch. If you don’t like the thread, then quit posting in it.

He doesn't have a soft way of what hes saying, kinda like Saint...but they are both right. Quads offers showed where he was, talent wise, before all of this. He made strides and that's what food kids do.
Coach got quiet after his Big 10 promise, and never came thru. Sounds like they recieved nothing positive.
Vanderbilt is a great school. But the coach is an idiot and has them back to a .300 team since Franklin left. Quad wont developed there like he would under Kiffin. Hell be getting killed and running for life the whole time...then they will fire that 2 mil per year coach, and hell be stuck.
Swallow your pride and ho play for the best qb coach of your offers, and that is Kiffin (as far as I know)
LSU is NOT in a position to take fliers on a qb. The environment would not support it. The staff would catch a lot of heat of we offered a 3 star who's best offer at the time was small schools.
Coach is a true Tiger! He loves LSU and his godchild Quad. Props to coach for being there. And I thank him for the insight.
I wouldnt commit if I were quad. I would work on mechanics all summer and have a senior year that no one can ignore, and line up some solid officials, enjoy them, and see what the season brings. You never know which of these bigs lose a recruit, have injuries, etc etc
No way I shut down and commit to Vandy..its just too early for him.

I think it's been an awesome thread and hope we have more like it in the future. I do wish coach could give us even more insight and maybe after it's all done he will. I'd like to get his take on the entire process having now gone through it. Curious if he thinks he got lied to along the way?

He seemed to think a couple times he was getting calls or even offers that didn't come through, so I'd love to get his take on it. He also was told Quad would be a 4 star, then seemed to have trouble even getting a page for Quad on any of the sites. I never once thought coach was lying to us or making anything up, but seems like he was told things along the way that never panned out and getting his thoughts looking back would be great.

Coach, I think you did a terrific job for your Godson and should be proud. I hope he goes where he feels most comfortable and has much success . I personally don't think he should shut down his recruiting now as he seems to continally be building steam, but perhaps this is another area where you can fill us in at some point?

I remember junior high. Homophones were always tough.

Good kid, good grades, he just not good

That's just incorrect. He's a rising three star that has a decent offer list that's growing quickly. Say what you will about Vandy and FAU, they are huge step above Southeastern, Bowling Green, Troy, etc.

Do you realize the percentage of high school athletes that make it to major D1 programs? It's ridiculously small. So stop with the "he's no good" talk.

Sorry if this offends anyone.

It IS offensive. In this particular case, a coach/perhaps family member of this kid has demonstrated amazing transparency and pulled back the veil on the recruiting process from an angle we rarely get to see. Regardless of where he ends up, he is a good QB and seems to be a solid, grounded person.

This coach has been cordial and engaging for months, while you've come across as a dick. This isn't some random athlete you're trashing; Quad and his coaches and family are posting and reading this.

I had no clue we had so many QB experts on this board. What's amazing is that none of these excellent QB evaluators have offered their services to LSU to help recruit and develop qbs. They let us struggle for years, when all the answers were right here within our fan base. Pretty selfish of them if you ask me.

To be fair, the experts in this thread went both ways.
