I would love to agree with you; however, heard that the 2nd OL at the scrimmage yesterday was "bad" at best.

no way ol will be best unit. think randall, shep, c.toliver, landry, boone, odj
We are loaded at a ton of positions. I could argue that the secondary will be our strong suit just as easy as I can say the OL will be. It is 6 one way, half a dozen the other.
Randle, Shep, Boone, Wright, Landry, and OBJ is one hell of a receiving corp. I completely agree with you there. I think we are going to have a little trouble utilizing all the talent with the QB issues we are having.

Half the guys I listed are in the 2011 recruiting class....and the other half are guys that are currently playing as starters this next year.
For 2011 we will have Blackwell, Hurst, Lonergan, and Josh D. all with at least 1 year of full experience and some with ~2 years experience....that doesn't even take into account the maulers that aren't on the team yet. Maybe I am being naive, but I don't have any worries about OL in the near future. QB is the only place I see a glaring weakness.
I also have a lot more faith in the OL in the future now that Ben Wilkerson is playing a major role in the coaching.

I really like Wilkerson being around also. He was a great center at LSU. Very talented and very smart. I don't feel comfortable with coach Stud yet.

I also think that it is A LOT more difficult to assemble this OL depth than the WR/DB/RB depth. It seems that talented 6' 200# guys are A LOT more abundant than talented 6'5" 300# guys.

i agree with you except a few things. Dickson is playing fb so we may never see him at TE.
Guys like trai turner and corey white, and hopefully robinson are only going to add to how good our line will be.
Porter still might be apart of the team. I see the only reason he wont be if he sucks and doesnt receive a scholarship next semester.

Since everyone else likes to make stuff up and then treat up their made up facts as truth, I will do the same.
Here is what I think happened: Miles realized that Porter was not the answer (and was never gonna be) over the last few months, but was still willing to remain committed to him until the unusual event of all signees qualifying occurred. Being the stand up guy that he is, and knowing that Porter would probably never play a down at LSU, he still gave him the opportunity to make the team and play on scholarship, just delayed a semester.
Porter, acting from emotion instead of thinking things through, does these interviews making himself out to be a victim even though he had a scholarship at a school he probably shouldn't have ever gotten. He eventually signs with Kentucky (because no other D-1 school wanted him) even though he would have had a scholarship at LSU in the spring.
Notice Miles never once bad-mouthed this kid even though it's pretty obvious now that he wasn't really at the level that we would expect to play at LSU, even when Porter bad-mouthed him. Miles never once said that Porter just wasn't good enough even though he could have to make himself look better.
So, that is actually what happened. I wrote this down and then I read it, so it must be true.

You have no idea what happened with the Porter situation.
It was something blown way our of proportion. He did not get screwed, as much as the media seems to want to make it look that way.
