Foster over Goodrich for the following reasons

We are going to need QB depth after missing out on targets this year.

2019 is absolutely stacked at CB. Why take a pretty good CB when we can get a great, if not, amazing CB next year.

I would say with confidence that 7-8 out of the top 10 CB of 2019 have us in the top 2. Why jeopardize that for Goodrich when we already have the #1 CB in Surtain coming to LSU for 2018

Stingley is regarded as one of the best CB's of LA in the past 10 years. Devin Bush is a monster from Karr, Erick Young and Bobby Wolfe are some monsters from Texas which will feel good to take and put in the face of Jimbo and Herman

Think about it...

I can't argue with anything you said...then I look at the 2018 depth chart for corners and get a little nervous. I think we definitely need one of Goodrich or Surtain, with Surtain obviously being the preferred choice.

But, if I'm going to nitpick your argument, I notice that it doesn't contain any argument for Foster being a good player. Are you in favor of taking him solely because he has the letters "QB" next to his name, or do you think he can develop into a good player for us?

Any that LSU has a legit shot at?

If Foster wants in you have to take him. Going into a season with only three QBs, probably only two, is a scary thought.

Disagree man and Auburn or Florida picks up a really good lockdown corner. Bad trade.

problem with the op is that Foster really isn't very good and there's an excellent chance he will never play a meaningful down at LSU. Goodrich is much more likely to see significant meaningful playing time.

Agreed. I'd rather wait for QB with a better shot at competing down the road next year.

Yeah and not have to throw against Goodrich for 3 years, its us Fla and Auburn I believe.

re: Foster over Goodrich for the following reasons
Your comment on the 2019 cb class has flaws.

We were in the top group for many of the top 10 cb in 2018 and currently have zero signed.

Also, Goodrich is better than pretty good and can play at least 3 positions.

I agree that the qb position is vital and we need to get to a stable point of taking 1 qb every year.

Imo Goodrich is the better overall player but Foster is the player at a more vital position.

My personal preference is Surtain Jr; Chase; Foster because I think at least one of our current qb will transfer out and going into next season with only 2 scholarship QB on the roster could be a disaster.

Very tough decisions and no one knows what each player is thinking.

Agree. Taking foster just because he's a qb is not smart. We need CBS to play next season. Foster will not play next season unless a disaster happens and if that's the case what's the difference between Foster and any other 3rd guy we have. Take Goodrich if he wants in.

If he is no good then why does he have Bama, FSU and A&M all after him?

Who the hell does LSU have that would cause Foster to never see the the field?

Y'all are acting like LSU has the pick of the litter of future QBs

That's a good question. The only name I hear is Grant Gunnel and he's already committed to A&M. There are no guarantees we can pry him away.

One thing we need to do is accept that our QBs (Brennan/Narcisse) will make mistakes, but allow them to open up the offense. If we continue to underutilize the QB and WR position we struggle at recruiting QB. Fortunately there has been very little impact on the WR spot.

I'd take Goodrich over Foster 10x/10. Just not a Foster fan, dont think he'll be a starting QB one day, Goodrich on the other hand is so versatile and could be a big time player.

If we havent learned yet that we need to take a QB in every cycle, then we never will.

I really really like Goodrich a lot and he defnitely need CBs. Much much rather him than Foster, and I do like Foster as a player. It's not a guarantee that all these CBs we say we're high on next year would even commit to us. If Goodrich wants it, you let him in. He's a beast.

re: Foster over Goodrich for the following reasons
There are most certainly better QB s in next years class but There is no guarantee LSU will get one. It’s the bird in the hand thing. If Foster is a take, and the coaching staff thinks is, then take him now and worry about next year later. Goodrich is talented but I think the need is greater at QB
