For those of us who are not recruiting gurus, who are the Top 5 must-gets for LSU in 2023?

Shelton Sampson
Tackett curtis
Jordan Matthews
Jaiden Ausberry
Trey Holly
This is no specific order
And make sure we keep Miller committed.

Shelton Sampson: 5 Star WR in the state. Already CBd to LSU
Jaiden Ausberry: Highest 4 star CB, and will more than likely be a 5 soon.
Zalance Heard: High 4 star linemen, LSU will need to continue to get these guys.
Derek Williams: Another high 4 star. A safety that would give the safety position a boost.
Those are ones that came to mind.

Ausberry headed to AU like his brother. Verge is not getting paid enough $ to send his sons to LSU.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the Ausberry at Auburn hit the portal after one year with the way those guys are leaving

LB. His brother is a DB

Trey Holly is the real deal. Was best RB in this state last year.

I don't know anything about Jackson but he'd have to be really really good to be better than Trey. Trey is the whole package, speed, power, vision and great hands.

Omarion Miller, WR
Derek Williams, S
Curley Reed, DB
Kaleb Jackson, RB
Kylin Jackson, S
Great year in-state to replenish DB, WR, RB, and LB.

Tackett Curtis should be at the top of our list no doubt. He's Louisiana born and raised but is keeping his recruitment very open. He's one that we cannot afford to lose.

Kaleb Jackson is a must. And both LBs, safeties, and CBs. LSU needs 4 CBs next year.
QB Collins
And WR Sampson and holding onto Miller. Losing Boutte and Jenkins next year and at least 2 juniors after 2023 season. In 2024 that would put us at 4 experienced WRs and at least 2 RSFR or sophomores. That's not counting 2024 kids.
We're losing both starting DEs next year so we need at least 2 there.
1 QB
1-2 RB
2-3 WR
1 TE (if we get a transfer and Lewis this year we only need 1 next year)
2 DE
2 LB
4 CB
2 S
Haven't seen how the numbers check out at OL and DT, but I'm guessing at least 3 OL and 2 DT putting us at 20-22 high school recruits with a couple spots left for transfers.

I was thinking of the OP's question and then thought how much more this will change to an end of season question every year now with the portal and NIL stuff as part of the mix. In previous years you could forecast more of future needs based on the current roster and who was leaving as a Senior or grade out to the NFL as a Junior. Now everyone will have to employ a Gypsy Fortune Teller as part of their staff to help figure this out.

Curley Reed is a long 4 star corner out of Lake Charles that will only rise higher
