Boutte quote

quote:

"T.J. and I are trying to get together one weekend and just get a feel for everything by throwing passes, catching balls, and just getting a little rhythm going," said Boutte, "so when we get to LSU we won't be shaky."

They are finding the talent that is there.

Shelvin was at Northside.

Couple kids at LCA are impressing and we have offers out on.

They are finding them early and recruiting them. Some of this though is on kids. When they camp places they get discovered. The camp circuit seems to be the most important now a days.

Yes. Lake Charles College Prep is developing good players, too.

That is simply a population thing. There are more people in BTR and Nola areas than Laf - Lake Chuck. There are very good players over there but not as many.

If you include Lake Charles in Acadiana, then the population is not much different from BR metro

Also explain how North LA, and the river parishes out produce Acadiana on D1 talent

The way this staff is recruiting nation wide now and hopefully Into the future, there will have to be a real talent to come from the area for them to venture into it.

That being said there is plenty of talent in the area. This bodes well for the smaller LA schools also. It’s about time this area starts producing again because it’s been a while since we’ve had a truly dominating player come out of it. We just picked up a Lafayette OL man who will be a great player once developed. This area just isn’t producing those big guys with speed that LSU needs. They usually have one or the other but not both. It’ll come back around.

That's astounding but Boutte will see meaningful action way sooner than Finley. And with possible early departures and/or redshirts, there's a chance they never start together. But I love that drive!
