not to be bias or anything but how do yall feel about recruiting more of the lafayette lake charles area players ... I personally think the coaches down there have some of the highest football IQs and with the addition of 7v7 competitions in the area i feel like it will become a hot spot if it already hasn't become one

It's not about area, it's about talent. If there's talent there that can play in the SEC and help make LSU better, I'm sure coach O and staff will be there.

I know he's been down there the past 2 years and georgia stopped by 4 schools around there this past year.

and i have seen plenty of talented 5 star players overcome by 3 star high IQ guys

Go after the best of the best. LSU’s staff is showing that with this class. Louisiana is first priority and always will be. But Bama and Clemson go across the country why shouldn’t LSU.

You can't build a championship team on exceptions. There are many reason why 5 stars are rated as they are. However, we all know there are no guarantees.

That's 8 kids over a 3 class period. BR has been producing those #s in 1 class.
The Acadiana area has good high school football but they rank below BR, Nola, the river parishes, the Florida parishes, and North LA in terms of top end talent

Baton Rouge is twice as large so they should be producing twice as much talent.

One of the things that hurts in St Landry Parish is that the school zones have gotten so messed up that many kids don't participate in sports because they wouldn't have a ride home without the after school busses.

This is an issue when you're bussing kids from the north side of Opelousas to Port Barre instead of sending them to OHS.

If OHS, Port Barre, and Beau Chene could just recruit their own hallways and increase participation, you would see the number of recruitable athletes rise. The talent is there, but there is so much working against the kids it's really unfair.

That's not really accurate.

That is simply a population thing. There are more people in BTR and Nola areas than Laf - Lake Chuck. There are very good players over there but not as many.

On that note, someone mentioned another Etienne brother coming up that is potentially better than his Clemson relations. Anybody got a line on that?
