You do know that each school has a finite amount of NIL money at their disposal and all have differing amounts? If we offer a kid 150k we have allotted and Oregon offers 400k, what are the coaches supposed to do?

And yet, our posters say next year is going to be the best class ever (every year).
We can’t and won’t compete with schools that have money

Really starting to feel like Woodward isn’t the guy for this job. Don’t see his long term vision for making us more competitive in NIL. Hire the best coaches you can and hope the kids take a discount to play for them seems to be our strategy. But the schools we are competing against also have good coaches.

It’s not Woodward. It’s NIL. We can’t compete with Oregon in that department. Either regulations happen or NIL will forever bring down LSU

Can’t be true. Moscona and the insiders on this board swore that DB recruiting would pick up significantly with Raymond back at LSU.

Raymond being left at the altar was the knock on him if I recall correctly. Will be interesting to see if he turns that image around.

I think the reality of the situation is LSU dosen't have a white-whale booster like some of these other schools.

Who is our best booster? Gordon?

Miami has a billionaire who funds almost all their NIL, Texas-Texas A&M have 20 Gordons they can call on, Oregon has Nike, so on so forth...

Theres really only so much Woodward can do. He has proven he can hire the right coaches and that is the most important thing

frickin Oregon, man. It’s not just money. Lanning is getting kids to buy in.

Call it sour grapes, but I think you'll see a lot of kids hit the portal. They'll be far from family and on long road trips against teams that will run it 50x per game.

And if you look at how his contract was structured compared to the other coaches, Kelly definitely is not sold on him long term. I feel like other staffers pushed for Raymond more than Kelly wanted him. It will be interesting to see how it plays out over the next couple of years.

I just spent 14 days in Eugene Oregon. Hard pass. Nothing to do at all. Even with money.

Correct answer. There will be a day, soon, I think. Football will be a separate entity from the other sports. Then they will be able to pay the players with money earned from the tv contracts.

Without some NIL changes and/or some recruiting staff changes LSU will continue to have lesser rosters and hope and pray that coaching can win their way to a title. Talent means so much in CFB though.

Really? Not according to this. ON3 Team Rankings....and oh this says he also have the highest average NIL.

Talent doesn't mean shite if you can't get players to buy into your system, develop them and retain them.

Uhh…offer 400,001.
Find it. Do better. Figure it out.

I mean that’s me if my job security was based off winning. Thankfully it’s not so I don’t have those tough decisions.

Unless Raymond can start offering these DBs stupid money like Texas and Oregon can then it doesn’t matter how good of a recruiter he is. These kids will go where the most money is. Don’t know why this is still having to be explained.
