Right now it feels like it. Our side will compare this to the Stingley recruitment.

And yet, our posters say next year is going to be the best class ever (every year).
We can’t and won’t compete with schools that have money

I like Corey as does lots of prospects. Kids put us in top 3 almost every time . But then it’s time to choose, nope. So is it Corey or is it our brand.

You seem to really be into the recruiting situation. Do you feel that since Kelly got here that local kids seem to be shying away from LSU? When Howard left I started looking at that a lot harder.

No....and if you are using Walker Howard who has yet to start a game in his like 3rd year of college football as the guide....then I don't know what to tell ya.

Kid was a star in HS. Some kids take longer to develop. Just a thought . It’s chat room.

If LSU loses out on both Antoine and Pickett, that's a huge gut punch. Amazing how difficult it's become for LSU to recruit elite talent at corner.

If all of the highly recruited receivers elect to go elsewhere and the two in-state guys follow through with their Michigan plans, where does LSU turn?

And please don't say "the portal." Other than Daniels and Frazier, LSU football hasn't exactly set the world on fire in the portal.

You know who else was a star in high school....Myles Brennan. And that list can go on. High school stars aren't always college stars to no fault of their own or all of their own.

You also know how you can tell if we are losing recruits from Louisiana? Google top 25 Louisiana recruits 2023 and tell me if we sucked at it.

I know it's a chat room man. That doesn't excuse you being a dumbass.

I'll help in 2023 LSU signed 14 of the top 20 and 8 of the top 10.

Yeah man I mean our most recent 2 Heisman qbs in 5 years didn't come from another school.

Damn, You Raymond folks sure get in y’all feelings defending him, huh? I want LSU to have the best secondary possible, and I’ll take any coach that can get that done. I don’t care where he’s from or where he’s coached.

Until Raymond proves himself, he’s just a generic db coach. He hasn’t done anything of note in 5 years. As of now, he’s living off of past achievements. If he proves me wrong, I’ll happily eat crow, but he’s got his work cut out for him.

Slow down now. Not even close to accurate.

I mean Duncanville is football factory and all reports are he is probably the best WR to come through there

His highlights/stats are ridiculous for their classification

LSU needs a really good season this year to keep positive momentum in recruiting. We lose 3-4 games/miss the playoffs its going to be next to impossible to land these 5 stars we still have on the board.

I mean, Florida couldn't even make a bowl game and they're landing some top guys. Miami has been a shite show for decades and they also are pulling in top dudes. Oregon couldn't even win the Pac 12 and they're recruiting at an elite level right now.

A good season can absolutely change the perception for us in a positive direction (especially on defense) but it shouldn't be hard to convince kids to come here even with a 6-6 season (which won't happen). We're LSU.

I mentioned Daniels coming in the Portal. Burrow wasn't in the portal, he was a graduate transfer, and his only other offer was Cincinnati. He wanted to go to Nebraska, but they wouldn't take him.

Really starting to feel like Woodward isn’t the guy for this job. Don’t see his long term vision for making us more competitive in NIL. Hire the best coaches you can and hope the kids take a discount to play for them seems to be our strategy. But the schools we are competing against also have good coaches.

The big moves will be off the board and we will be loading the roster with lesser talents that won’t see the field for 2-3 years and trying to flip 1-2 highly rated guys to make it seem like we are recruiting at the same level as the others.

I tend to agree where Raymond is concerned. I believe a major reason he was hired was because Kelly believed he would be able to recruit great talent at corner, and especially the players in Louisiana. It could turn out great, but it doesn't look positive right now.

So Oregon can keep recruiting without ever winning shite though?

Kids today don't care about winning. There are no team players. Winning is anecdotal. Look at Travis Hunter. Give up the idea that what the name on the front of the jersey says. These kids are nothing but mercenaries now and would rather hold the program hostage each offseason for a few dollars than sell other kids on coming be part of something great.
