On3 just released their final basketball recruiting rankings for the 2024 class and this is where our commits fall in the rankings:

Robert Miller III ends up as a top 50 commit for the program! He has taken a huge leap in the on3 rankings from 64 to 37. He is also now the number 1 player in the state of Texas according to on3. Sources close to LSU say that there is belief around the program that Robert will be a contributor from day 1 and he now becomes McMahon's second highest rated recruit ever after Tyrell Ward.

While one Miller jumps into the top 50 rankings, the other Miller (Vyctorius) moves out of it falling from 47 to 61. I believe that VJ Miller is truly one of the more underrated prospects coming out of this class as a pure three level scorer and could be ranked a little low here. Could be that he still has a lot of developing to do on the defensive side of the ball. At the end of the day he was a great snag towards the end of the cycle by this coaching staff and it'll be fun to watch him develop into a scoring role here at LSU. Vyctorius has not signed his letter of intent yet, but he should be putting the pen to the paper very soon here.

CG3 drops three spots and ends at 65 in the rankings. The top 10 point guard is a great pick up for the tigers and gives us a future facilitator and scorer. Guard development has been a bright spot during McMahon's coaching career so I have no doubt Givens will be a big piece for our program in the future. While playing with top 20 stars like Cooper Flagg, Liam McNeeley, and Derik Queen at Montverde, CG3 often took the backseat and played off of the ball, however there were plenty of games where Givens showed off his crafty scoring ability, and deadly 3pt shooting.

There are still a few uncommitted recruits in the top 100, however it seems like LSU will finish at #15 in the On3 team recruiting rankings for this cycle. Just an overall great class put together by this coaching staff to add onto our current core of players.

Crazy that the neither the #1 player in California or #1 player in Texas are 5 stars. Not complaining, just wild from a recruiting demographics standpoint.

It does seem like McMahon isn't recruiting centers out of the portal as hard as most expected. I wonder if Miller's development has something to do with that. The one knock on the board is that he might have been a project, but I guess that is changing.

Miller is (listed) 6'10. But he's not a prototypical "center". He more in line with Jalen Reed in terms of style of play. Center size that wants to be a wing.

In his first two years McMahon has prioritized Centers who could also step out and shoot threes. While good in theory, it hasn't produced results. LSU was been ranked 100(+) in offensive efficiency both years. Same on defense as neither KJ nor Baker were good defenders. It looks like McMahon may be embracing a change of philosophy. LSU won't have a traditional center, but will have better length to guard and more versatility in scoring.

He desperately needs a Bigby -Williams, or Emmit Williams type who will control the glass, set screens, and block shots in the backend. Some one who does the dirty work

this. these are the guys that allow you to close out a game. when you only give your opponent one shot and rebound the misses, it is very difficult for anyone to come back on you.

and you need free throw guys as well.....

Eh I mean these were 2 totally different players. KBW was a rim running 7 footer who was great at contesting shots in the paint.

Williams was a high energy 6'5 PF who set good screens and was an agressive rebounder.

In today's college basketball, give me a KBW 10 times out of 10. Between him and Naz, our paint defense was absurd in 18-19. We had actual, effective, size.
