He went to high school at Neville with our 2 Olineman.

The 6’3 312 DL from Monroe, LA will have 3 years of eligibility remaining.

I know focus is on bringing in good quality players and especially players from the boot home.

Maybe I’m alone on this but I think we have enough DL where we should only take someone that will be a starter or pushing a starter. I don’t see the next year for him. I would pass.

He has 3 yrs to play everyone was up in arms about no DT committed. You can never have enough big guys in the middle anything can happen, we saw with Wingo. Also staff is still going after Hamlin from Juco. They will take 1 more DT for sure from portal.

He’s a take in my book. Fits Kelly’s mold of Louisiana guy

The Neville Olineman probably already hit him up already.

We got plenty of room. I actually think they need to attack the problem with volume. Higher chances of hitting pay dirt and more bodies to rotate.

He's played a grand total of 15 snaps in 2 years on bad Auburn teams.

One of the many issues on defense this year was lack of talent.

Nothing against the kid, but I don't see how bringing him in helps us.

I mentioned him because we do need DT and he from Louisiana. Now do the staff take him probably not if some other DT that are good come out and also if they land Hamlin also. Also don't know who will remain on team via portal or going to draft on team. Just good to bring up on the board doesn't hurt.

Auburn On3 Article

quote from article:

What does Sledge’s departure mean?

"Enyce Sledge didn’t play in 2022 and barely played in 2023. While Auburn needs to rebuild the defensive line ahead of 2024 with the expected departure of Marcus Harris to the NFL, Sledge wasn’t projected to be an impact player. His departure will open up a roster spot for Jeremy Garrett to potentially add another high school defensive lineman or additional defensive linemen from the portal. Sledge can try and find a better opportunity somewhere else and Auburn can bring in more competitive talent for the SEC grind."

Auburn 247 Article

quote from 247 Article:

"Hugh Freeze said Monday that he will soon begin conversations with prospective transfers from his own roster, and Sledge was obviously one of the first among those.

“Only way I know to be is totally transparent,” Freeze said. “Tell them the truth. The truth for some is that your chances to play here are probably slim."

I agree as long as Smith and Wingo come back. If BK knows they are leaving we need more even if just for depth.

Meh ... every Louisiana kid that enters the portal doesn't have to be a take. We need some guys thats gonna come in and play at high level... and not just take up a spot on the roster.

Agreed. I’m for attacking the DL issue with numbers but not just warm bodies. LSU can find some guys who can play. West Virginia was kind to us last cycle.

Good Lord, the kid couldn’t sniff the field on a bad team. I know this is a scorching hot take and I’m probably alone in thinking this but LSU should probably try to get good players out of the portal
