If they would have had a fullback he would not have followed him, because of his running style.

Barry gained 2053 yards and averaged 6.1 yards a carry his 1st season with a fullback. How did you come up with this one? Barry also played with a fullback the majority of his college career and won the Heisman Trophy, anyone with non-biased eyes knows that Barry had more gifts than Emmitt. Emmitt went to a better situation and played 5 years longer. Head up Barry yards per stats are better on the ground, and Barry’s averages receiving were better as well. Put Emmitt in Detroit, and his stats would not mirror what Barry did in their era.

Emmitt Smith was great, but his O-line in Dallas was beastly. They were the equivalent of Alabama's O-line in this era. I think if he played anywhere else, he would have still been great but he wouldn't have had the record breaking career he did.

With that said, if we land EJ, let's try to test my theory and bring in a beastly line to compliment him!

Emmitt was an absolute beast coming out of High School in Gulf Breeze.

Those saying he was successful because of his offensive line are idiots.

Exactly, who the hell cares if the guys were FA's or late round picks like someone said which isn't entirely true anyways, they were still a formidable OLine back then and one of the best in the NFL at that time. shite, I was living in Dallas during those times and know it to be fact.

You're the one that's a damn idiot. His OLine was part of his success, fool, no one is trying to discredit Emmitt Smith. He was a standout wherever he was, but he wouldn't have put up those type of numbers playing behind other NFL lines, asswipe. Y'all can say whatever the hell you want to though.

Reminds me of D.J. Foster at Arizona St a few years back.

If any RB could do well behind that offensive line, why did they start 0-2 the year he sat out the first two games?

Doesn't fit the narrative. That Cowboys offense went the way of Emmitt and this is the ultimate proof. When he hurt his hamstring in 1994, Blair Thomas couldn't get it done behind that oline either and that line had Larry Allen.
