Per his Twitter. Guess it was just a matter of time.

Necessary attrition and probably addition by subtraction. He was taking up space. One much needed scholarship open!

He figured out quickly he couldn't play in the SEC. He should go somewhere he can play.

He could’ve stuck with it and markedly improved like Alexander did, but he quit

His mentions are full of syracuse fans begging him to come back. Talk about down bad

Alexander can matchup physically much better at 6'2 than chestnut can at 5'8. He was overwhelmed and is making a good decision for his career to go elsewhere.

If he wants to play, it was necessary. He was terrible in the limited time he played. Best of luck elsewhere

I’ve got a hunch this dude didn’t figure that out at all, which is why he pouted all season.

Outside a couple players, the guys evaluating the portal did a shite job last season, let’s be honest.

I think the staff envisioned him as a Nickle when they brought him in, with Johnson, Harris and Alexander rotating on the outside. Then Johnson got hurt, Harris was out the first game and was in and out after that, and Alexander wasn’t ready to face an offense as good as FSU’s in game one.

But even after game one when we weren’t playing an offense full of 6’-3” and taller WRs, he struggled as badly as everyone else picking up the scheme and playing zone.

Zy played plenty against fla st. Pretty sure he was the guy who got ragdolled face first in the end zone on their last td.

Difference is he believed in himself and got better. Duce quit at a time when we had next to no db experience. Guy couldn’t even keep up with those slow arse Arkansas recievers.

I won't blame him for being a shite DB. All of ours were shite last year. I blame the coaches and scheme for that. Giving up? Yea, that's squarely on him.

If he was overwhelmed, his next stop will be the last of his “career.”

I know he did. This if just my own opinion, but I think the staff was hoping to put Johnson and Harris on the outside as starters, use Chestnut at Nickle, and bring Alexander along a little slower making the move from FCS. Instead he kind of got thrown to the wolves.

But I agree with you- Alexander was tough and figured shite out. He was looking much improved leading up to his injury. I really hope he can make it back to play 1/2 or more of next season.
