Seems as though we have a lot of DL positions to fill. We aren’t filling all of these on ESD.

We need to turn on the jets to get a TON of interior Dline guys for next year, because when Wingo, Smith and Guillory all leave we dont have much behind that. We will be blessed if they all return for 2024. If 2/3 of those guys left after this season we are really screwed for next season.

We arent even close to done on guys entering the portal.
I have just Nabers and Thomas turning pro early on my current roster guys but we have 92 scholarship players at the moment for next season and thats with us still recruiting high school and more portal guys to come. We will need a bunch more guys to hit the portal/leave for NFL early/leave program to get to 85 if we plan on taking say another 4-5 guys between the portal and high school.

That’s where the portal comes in since we have just a few DL signees on ESD. But no budge on that. At least not yet.

Maybe they waiting until after bowl game. Some should have been hit it to be honest so they can find new homes. So they can all find homes some will be going down a level.

I believe this means that one of or both Smith and Wingo are staying.

He only really played once Wingo got hurt. Before Wingo got hurt he played 8 snaps against Grambling all season long. Once Wingo went down he got 37 snaps the rest of the season spread across 5 games, so not really playing much still, but was effectively the 4th guy after Smith, Jefferson & Guillory.
He would be entering his 3rd season here next year and if Wingo/Smith/Guillory are all back he's at best the #4 guy. So thats probably good news for us there on those guys and him just wanting to play more than a few snaps a game basically, also has to compete with Washington coming in for those.

You misunderstood I believe. What Kelly DID say was he expected no more "opt outs" for the bowl game after Daniels. Obviously that would NOT include announced transfers or potential transfers. Let's see if any more LSU players OPT OUT of the bowl game...so far just Daniels.

I may have been the only one that had noticed, I seriously doubt it, but everything that has been done this off-season had been done methodically. Either that, or I'm way off and I'm seeing a pattern that isn't there. I almost expect an announcement from Smith or Wingo within the next day or so that one of them is returning for next season.

Opt outs for the bowl are done. We'll still have portal transfers and underclassmen declare for the draft.
