We've told him this time and time again, but he fails to comprehend it. Derby thinks that since he reads Georgia message boards he fully knows the situation, which is comical.

I think he was offered late - but not Sheppard... as of the time we took there commitments neither Riley or Sheppard had committable offers per dawgs.com

he could not have committed to UGA with the "offer" he had

Talk about it in Tiger Penthouse
Stephenson High School, in Stone Mountain, Georgia, has become one of the most talent rich high schools in the South. They have sent players to schools up and down the east coast. This is a new year, but Stephenson has yet another group of division one prospects. Perry Riley is an athlete that plays multiple positions for the Jaguars, and he received his first scholarship offer last week. Who offered Riley, and who does he have in his top five?
"Georgia sent me an offer last week," said Riley.
The Bulldogs are the first team to step up and extend an offer Riley's way, but various other teams are showing interest…
In fact, this was the fist update done by Rivals on Riley. LINK

I dont know if perry riley or sheppard were offered by georgia but I got the idea they were not or were not high priorities because both were fairly low on the list of top georgia players list done by the georgia rivals website that year. I kind of just assumed they were Georgia leftovers, which is fine by me because they both look like they are going to be solid players for us. Why argue over it though, its not like we went in there and stole a top 10 player like we are doing this year.

Perry Riley is probably going to take a starting spot at LB, or at the very least, a #2 spot in 08. Derby, why do you have such a hard on for who offered who? For being a younger kid, I would say he's coming along nicely. As for Shepphard, apparently only the kids that suck play ST.
BTW, How's Marcus Ball doing at Florida St? He was rated so much higher than his 2 teammates. FSU would be one of the "Big 3" you so desperately love to suck upon.

Here is a story about his commitment in the AJC.com saying that LSU has far superior facilities, like an indoor practice facility.
Funny to read all the sour grapes UGA homer comments saying they didn't want him anyway.
Welcome to titletown Drayton.

This is Les Miles. I am the head football coach at LSU. I have been reading the Constipation-Urinal’s UGA coverage and these threads for some time now, and based on the size your egos and imaginations, have come to the realization that any attempt to win a football game against your squad is futile, due to their imagined invincibility. We are going to forfeit our Oct 25 game against you. I am appealing to the other SEC coaches to do the wise thing and forfeit their games against UGA as well. Should we happen to win our division again, we will, of course, forfeit the SEC Championship as well. I sincerely hope that this will stop all of the hand-wringing and whining that goes on among the UGA fan base. Maybe Marie will begin to understand that just because her team didn’t win their division, much less their conference, there is some conspiracy theory in a parallel universive where a player can “lobby” their coach to “get to NC” and it would have some effect. Perhaps in her world, Mike Adams’ pathetic, pitiful, pandering call for a playoff after last season doesn’t appear as if it’s sour grapes from a long time playoff opponent. Perhaps if the “Dawg Nation” is given the NC trophy that they feel that they diserve, despite being on the wrong end of one of S Carolina’s 3 SEC victories, they will finally get some cheese to go with their whine. If all of UGA’s fantasies and fairy tales don’t materialize, however, you can at least make lemonade from your lemons by gathering around Lake Lanier and refilling it with your tears. Have a GREAT day.

Likewise, LSU kool-aid drinkers like yourself think every kid we get is highly coveted and come to LSU because we can go into states like Georgia and Florida and out-recruit the home-state schools

Dawgs.com? That's the basis of your argument?
what's the differnce between their posters knowledge and ...well..say you here on an LSU board?
Do you proclaim to know more about their home school than them?

What do you expect them to say two years later?
wrong, this was the strong consensus there back when they committed

You have nothing whatsoever to substantiate this except your asinine theory.

because its the best indicator of a kid's prospect level IMO... frick Rivals, frick Scout, frick Lemming, etc... and sure as hell disregard a thing you hear on the Rant

I know, everyone Les signs is a gold nugget
as a matter of fact, he's better than Saban at recruiting since he's more honest and sincere with kids and parents
you know some things, Books, but your word is far from the gospel... don't be so critical of others views, especially when you are using a 17yo kid's quotes

but we don't talk about the ones with that impressive offer list that don't make it? You speak as if every one of these cats with impressive offer sheets are automatic all conference players.

another law of numbers scenario
no guarantees on anything, but for kids that come from a hot-bed state like Ga. where Florida and Georgia (and Tennessee to some degree) regionally are on these kids and get the top prospects - its unlikely we have more knowledge of these kids than UGA and UF, etc...
we usually get projects (Hagans) or needs we can't get locally (LBs)
