I know that, but was he interested at all in coming here before we took Burns? The fact that he commits to Auburn after we take Burns makes me think he did have some interest, but also may be a coincidence

Good luck to Kaufman but I am glad we got Burns. Both have played in the SEC so I can definitely see Burns competing for a starting spot at LSU. I think our safety room has done a 180 from last season and that room looks good for years to come with the incoming freshman also. Now hopefully we can get our Oline, running back, and linebacker rooms looking like the this safety room and then the future is even brighter.

I never saw us mentioned as a school showing interest in any of the articles I read about him since the day he entered the portal. Was mostly Auburn/Texas talk I saw

He's going to be really good for Auburn. I wanted him badly at LSU. Just a beastly playmaker and a great kid.

Based on what? Both did very little as true freshman while Burns was higher recruit, for whatever that's worth.

Burns has more value to LSU's staff because it helps mend any potential bridges burned on the HS level. That makes his stock higher for them so it was smarter going with him. I doubt they see a huge gap in talent between either anyway. Burns should've never ended up at Georgia anyway. That was quite a mess up for Coach O that recruiting season.
