Yeah, they'd never think of doing something wrong over at Destrehan. Just like watching South Lafourche Hudl film.

Maybe they are just having a good cycle, but they had an unusual amount of talent last year. Didn't matter to Acadiana, they still rolled.

Well you butchered that city's name, but really the river parishes in general just have talent. Hahnville, Destrehan, and East St. John put out quality players every year. The New Orleans schools have an absurd amount of talent as well.

Not a flame, but when is the last time St. Charles Catholic had a big time recruit?? Was it Tyrell Fenroy?

Hahnville, Destrehan produce a ton of homegrown talent, but they do get impact transfers frequently.

Players transfer to the river schools because they have great athletic departments, are very good academically, have a ton of money/jobs in the area with all the plants, and close proximity to New Orleans attracts a families that work in the city but don't want to live there. It's not because they're out recruiting at games like I've seen other schools do.

This year alone Desty & ESJ have gotten some bigtime players transfer in.

Destrehan - Tyler Addison
ESJ - Da'Monte Coxie & Marquise Darensbourg
Don't know about Hahnville this year, but in the past decade they've had atleast a handful of kids from the Raceland area play for them that I know of, a couple that went on the play college ball.

St. Charles parish is Loaded with a huge pool of players and lots of money no recruiting necessary. But as good as destrahan looks now they play second fiddle their rival Hahnville who pumps guys to the NFL like Laron & Dawan Landry, Laron Byrd, Alfred Blue etc.

Destrehan plays second fiddle to Hahnville? Interesting take on things.

I wasn't speaking specifically to destrehan. I can confirm without a doubt that some large public schools recruit. To think otherwise is akin to an ostrich with their head in the sand.

no matter how much Coach Salt pumps up Hahnville to be this bastion of "big-time" football, does not make it so (yet)...

both of them should be paying the East St. John coach though

My 2 sons are on a Recreation team in St.Charles Parish in the 7-8 year old's age group. I'm just amazed at the talent at that age and then I realize that there's more talent not even playing because the family didn't have the money to pay the fee or any extra cost.

I have lived all over south Louisiana From Lafayette to Destrehan and nothing comes close to the River Region. As far as good education goes, everyone will bring up the teachers sex scandal. Besides that my kids get a better education than I got at a Private school. It's truly an impressive school district with a ton of money coming from Shell, Valero, Dow, and many others.

Per capita I'd think greater Monroe is on par with the river parishes
