True! But you do have down years like this year and like you said winning helps so you can cherry pick players out of states like Texas, Florida, and Georgia.

Naw don't think today trying to ask on twitter. People saying like payback to Texas. Nobody is confirming but some have mentioned Kobe Black might be who they talking about. I will keep everyone updated on what I see on X.

Ok quick edit not Black it's a 2025 Player. Guessing that would be Duncanville WR if so to far out to worry about.

Shocking news that other colleges get a player or 2 from the state with the most college recruits. We have players from Mississippi, Michigan, Georgia, Florida and California on the team. I’m sure those colleges would have loved to have kept that player home.

OU recruits DFW better than us. LSU recruits houston better. If only there was a reason.

I'll give you OU to a certain extent, but what about Clemson,OSU,ALABAMA,UGA and even Florida or USC. They all recruit TX better and are further than us.

I'm simply making the argument because we are border state with 3 national championships in the 15 plus years and we played for another and we are a top five team this year. And yes we do recruit Houston good but not like OU recruits DFW, yes we have better instate talent than OU but we should be a top 3-5 recruiting type of team. And if we become more dominant in TX we will do that.

With NIL and OU and Texas now in SEC it will get harder to make in rows with high profile kids there. OU and Texas will spend money there to keep the advantage.

Unless LSU starts to dominate the SEC like Alabama it will be difficult to consistently pull the top talent.

We will get a few, but we will be consistently outspent there.

Have we not always had players from Dallas on the roster? I get what you're saying in terms of placing a higher emphasis on it, perhaps...but we've always recruited Dallas.

We've always gotten good players and couple of great players from TX, but not to the extent that it should be especially in DFW.

LSU has picked up few from DeSoto over the years. Jalen Mills and a couple OL. They’ve just never hit that area too hard. There is more division one talent within a 100 mile radius of Houston, than in the state of Louisiana.

We should want DFW and Houston kids and East Texas kids, the key is to be dominant in TX not get a couple of players from there.

Dude give it a rest. We recruit locally and regionally at a high level. We even cherry pick national guys. How long before you mention that running back from deep east Texas that you think is a future first rounder

We’ve been hitting all those areas for years. LSU has the largest alumni group in the Houston area. We have former LSU players and coaches in high schools all over this region you are talking about. The 2023 class had 4 players from the Dallas /Fort Worth area and into N. Tx. Also one from the Cypress area(Houston).

We won’t be dominant in texas. LSU is not a state school for them. Just like any other college won’t be dominant in Louisiana. Every state will have kids go out of state for college.

As long as Baton Rouge looks like trash compared to other places recruits will go elsewhere. Louisiana is a 3rd world state

We don't have to be dominate in Texas it has alot of talent in Houston and DFW area. We can still get some great players every class from both areas. Along with alot of LSU Alumni and ton of louisiana residents that moved to both areas. You would be surprised how many bars in both cities and restaurants that just Louisiana residents just hang out at to be around other Louisiana people. Alot of these kids in Texas have family ties to Louisiana or see LSU repesented alot out here. Especially since many people moving out here now to work both cities are grow rapidly.

All big cities are like that unless you just go to nice part of each city. If you think a trash city is going to decide these recruits decision you just been to nice part of Houston and dallas areas. Lol

Why not us OU done it for years
Ou has no instate talent like Louisiana they have to recruit Texas to stay relevant also DFW has a huge sooner alumni base, LA should always be LSU primary focus, most nfl players per capita.

Far as Harold Perkins goes he's a Katrina baby TX doesn't get credit for him,
he was literally like two years old when they relocated. Also Houston has the most players in the NFL from American cities.
