All I know is that the hype and enthusiasm surrounding our program right now is palpable. I'm successfully tethering my excitement for now, but I can't recall this type of hype surrounding our football program in quite a long time.

Nothing even really directly happened to affect us, but outside circumstances have piled up to really make this next season feel like it's going to be special- like something flipped the script and the stars have realigned.

Bama signed 22 players last year. So they can only sign 28.

Some Bama people say they only signed 21. One of the 22 listed as a 3* QB from Arkansas and they say he was really a walk on.

Also, it's possible they might not have had a full class the year before, in 2017.

This should be good news for us huh?

I believe this is a good sign for Lee and the Sopsher brothers. Kardell has been talking to them a lot. I don't think he really talks a lot about college choices to Ish, but I believe he has built a strong relationship with Lee and Sopsher. I know Ish has said and reiterated his desire to play collegiate football with his brother and LSU has offered his brother while only Oregon has done the same. I don't see saban doing the same. So, maybe Lee has decided on LSU because ISH has decided to go to LSU. I think getting Ish will be a major win for Orgeron in the arena of recruiting. But I have reservations that it will pay off on the field over the next 3 or 4 years. Ish was overweight at the UA AA game and his play on the field revealed he lacks the techniques needed to compete against better competition. We all have seen how advanced he is athletically when he is playing at the proper weight. But that was mostly against weaker competition. To be successful against players of equal size, strength and athleticism, he must develop sound techniques. If he isn't able to develop those techniques, he won't be the superstar player that would justify burning a scholarship on his brother. In that case he may have to go the same route other dlinemen have taken and switch to the oline.
