I hope Skinner does sneak into our class. I like Carter and think he has nice upside but he's far from a sure thing. Skinner is also a natural receiver and that's what we need. We've got big hulking TEs coming out of our ears in LA. Carter has already been offered a greyshirt so just stick with that and take Skinner this year if it can work out. Wrose comes to worse take both. Carter could grow to OL or play DL.

So why didn't they tell Skinner, but told the other guys to take a hike? They merely didn't contact Skinner, which is why he decommitted. If you dont want someone, tell them...even though Arkansas isn't in a place they can be turning away decent talent right now at all.

Arkansas usually gets a few kids from LA every year. It's not pivotal, but some is better than none for sure. This only hurts him for the future.

Just to put this out there.
Petrino wouldn't let Skinner or Blanchard commit while he was here, and they both tried several times.
As soon as they came to John L and Horton he let them commit.

From reading Hog fans on Skinner, it seemed like you offered based on his performance at your camp when Petrino was still around?
Regardless, it will be interesting to see how this affects some of their recruiting in south LA moving forward. Certainly can't help but at the end of the day south LA was never going to be a hotbed for Arkansas if north LA isn't.

No, Petrino was gone already when he camped and was offered. Skinner tried to visit with the purpose of committing when Petrino was still here but they told him no and that he would have to come to camp first.

Don't worry, Arkansas is the least of my concerns from an SEC recruiting standpoint in Louisiana. Especially now with Bielema (sp).

From the article one of our recruiting guys just put out it sounds like he is going to go to Houston unless something last minute pops up.

From what I hear he decommitted on his own. Think he is headed to Houston. Has a former Patterson teammate who plays there. (trevon Stewart)

As of right now he has scheduled OVs to Miss State, ULL, and Houston.
