Then players can wrestle with "Why did I not get as much as that guy, or that school?....w"

I 100% agree there should be a site where the whole world can see it and if it is not on that site then it is illegal and this wont stop every illegal activity but it will draw a clear line in the sand to where there can be no misinterpretation

The deals are public knowledge at schools that know what they are doing. Bama gives recruit NIL offer sheets letting them know how much they can make at Bama

It's very obvious that these players are being paid to play at a school, not being paid for use of their Name, Image, or Likeness.
Maybe there needs to be an NIL oversight committee that has the authority to deny/void an NIL contract. All NIL deals must be submitted to them. Biggest issue is that that organization would get corrupted in a heartbeat.

I am for a free market but all i am saying is there has to be some kind of regulation to make these companies and universities have to show that it is a legit NIL deal and not some situation where they are just handing a kid and family a ton of cash

This has nothing to do with 'socialism", dumb arse.
And these are private commercial agreements between non-public parties.
You can "demand" all you want, but neither the player nor the NIL partner have any incentive to make it public and likely have incentives to maintain privacy.

I can't imagine that SEC regulations for football would be any more onerous than SEC regulations for the stock market.

I use the word purported intentionally. Not theoretical, not intended... purported. Meaning they said it was for one thing (which LSU chooses to believe) but it is really for another.
Do you really think that the NIL and its rules combined with a no-penalty transfer rules (which even suspended players have used) AND the transfer portal's cumulative result was unexpected? Did they not see that coming? Hell yeah they knew what those 3 things combined would bring.
The reason we are being laughed at is we believed what they said... we took the purported use of the NIL at face value and put up billboards and waited for business to hand out money.
While other schools formed businesses & charities, took booster money, and gave it to players; including walk ons.

Because he works for state funded college. And we don’t know how much he makes. We know how much LSU pays him. We won’t know how much he will make on endorsements.
