Actually pretty good insight on the kid and I applaud the way the Mannings are handling it.

Similarly, college coaches continue to try to find ways around the Mannings’ recruiting embargo. Take last summer, when Arch and his high school team won a seven-on-seven tournament on LSU’s campus. Tigers coach Ed Orgeron and his offensive staff spent much of the event schmoozing the Manning family. “It was unlike anything I’ve witnessed at a seven-on-seven tournament,” says Shea Dixon, a 247Sports recruiting reporter covering LSU and Louisiana. “I haven’t seen LSU coaches put that attention on a senior, let alone a kid who just finished eighth grade.”
The Tigers planned to offer Arch a scholarship, Dixon says, before they learned the likely reply: There is no offer to give because there is no offer to receive. Several college coaches, who asked not to be named, call the Mannings’ method “refreshing” in an era when 15-year-olds use social media to advertise offers that can’t be executed for another three years. The downside, some say, is that Arch could fall behind. Many of the highest-profile QBs have dozens of offers before they’re juniors, and some commit well before their senior year begins.
Article mostly covers the kid and the family. A little talk of recruiting. Mostly that they are taking recruiting very slowly, and letting the kid have a semi normal life.

Yeah, okay.

Wow so the Mannings think they are special. Shocker.
Or they are turned off by the dirty world that is recruiting.

Good article. I don't think he comes to LSU, but even when LSU was terrible, Archie and Peyton had a good relationship with Lynn Amadee, so they'll listen.
Lynn was never close to the type recruiter Ed and Steve are.

They're doing what they can to let the kid be a kid for as long as possible. That's admirable, not something to be derided.

I actually knew them as kids and they would laugh at me every time I mentioned LSU. It is another dream and dont waste our time on them. Other kids dont have the luxury to choose to go to college for free, or dont have the luxury to choose where to take a scholarship. Only because Arch is a Manning that he will be handled with kid gloves. Its kinda bullshite that the coaches buy into that but they need to keep their jobs so they have to go for the best players.

The circumstances are different now (compared to when Peyton and Eli were recruited). Different in a good way.
Arch is a Tiger fan.
LSU is a proven natty program with a proven natty coach.
LSU has a proven offensive system to get QBs drafted high to the next level. This trend needs to continue. First Burrow then Brennan. I think Brennan will be a second rounder, minimum. Probably first.

It will not stop O from recruiting the kid
The chance may be slim but it won't be from lack of effort from O
If LSU continues to put up type of offense that Burrow just won a Heisman with he would be foolish not to entertain LSU

I would have to think with Kiffin at Ole Piss it's going to be difficult for LSU to beat them out. I wouldn't sleep on that hire dangerous on our borders. Kiffin has always been an elite recruiter.
I'm still surprised LSU hasn't really gone out to get any good recruiters now that it's becoming increasingly more difficult to recruit with who's around us now. Might be losing Robinson too and we don't know what Faulk can do recruiting wise/connections.

1)They are protecting their kid.
2)They ARE special. Thats what the entire article is about.

Who knows where he goes in the end. This was a really good read and it sheds some light on just how stressful all of that pressure can be.
I give them credit for shielding him from all of that insanity. Let him be a kid for a while. College is a long time away. It is obvious that they all love the kid.

I have no insight, other than the Mannings will do what is best for them -- as they should.
If LSU is the best fit, that's where he will go.
They will not go to Ole Miss or Tennessee out of loyalty. Peyton to Tennessee proved that.

Imagine not thinking they are, because they are, and not understanding that they know more about this than you could only dream to.

Peyton to Tennessee proved that Tennessee was an elite program at the time and that Mississippi was on probation and Cooper was unable to keep playing. Nothing more, nothing less.

Exactly my point. They did what was best for them. Arch will go to an elite program. If Ole Miss or Tennessee are not elite, then he will not go there.

So people read a thread about how a kid has more attention than any other recruit, earlier than any other recruit, and they dont realize that means he is outside of the norm? Thats what special means you dipshits.

I would think he will got to Duke to play for Cutcliffe if he is still coaching then.
