The receivers you have plus the ones coming in are perfectly capable with the right QB. The only reason we didn’t have a “deep threat” this year is because Daniels rarely threw down the field.

No decent receiver is coming to LSU for a year if JD is coming back. Why would they do that unless they absolutely love 7 yd curl routes and blocking downfield all game.

Mike Oxsmall is a good one from the Big Ten. He isn’t a deep threat but his brother Mike Oxhuge is.

Have already seen reports that they're going after the kid from Mizzou (Lovett?). I am a huge Brian Thomas advocate and think we'd be more than okay entering next year with Boutte/Nabers/Thomas as our top 3 guys (probably with boutte in the slot)--but I actually love the idea of bringing in a deep burner.
If we can add a deep threat with gamebreaking speed, I see it accomplishing two things: (1) It'll open up more room to work in the short/intermediate areas, as teams will need to keep at least one and sometimes two safeties deep; and (2) it'll allow Boutte and Nabers to do more of the things they're best at. I think both of those guys are more that solid as deep threats--but I also think it's not the bread and butter for either guy. The Mizzou kid+boutte+nabers would be a perfectly complementary group of starting WRs.
