All 5 from 2017 were big losses. Moses, Smith and Biggs all starters on the team that beat the balls off of us saturdday night.
Irv Smith...huge miss, our TE been none existent.
Cam Robinson, Tim Williams and Landon Collins all huge misses.
That's 9 bonafide starters over a 6 year period.
The depth you lose is what can't be measured.
But if your list makes you feel better...go with it.

2013) Tim Williams OLB/DE – Decent Loss here. He became a better player than his recruiting ranking, it happens.
He was a top 100 player as a recruit and top 3 player in the state according to 247, not some under the radar guy who exceeded expectations.

You may be right. I just don’t remember us being on him super hard at the time. Maybe he didn’t fit our 4-3 scheme at the time, I don’t remember.

I remember the rant saying he had an offer but he told coaches he was leaving the state and Miles left him alone

Eddie Lacy was a stud, Bama got him qualified
LSU didn't offer because his grades were that bad
please discuss these issues
what about the 5 for 5 year
Bama destroyed us that year, we darn near lost LF too

Excellent post! Hands down I love the work and research you did and very good point made. Only thing is that LSU told Hootie to take a hike and went after Jamal’s adams. Excellent work here!!

I figure on the bright side with all these LA guys bama is just east Louisiana football team

IMO, you can add DJ Fluker to the list. Grew up in NOLA and was a huge LSU fan. Evacuated to Mobile, AL during Katrina where he finished HS. Fluker was the #1 OT HS recruit in 2009, an All-American at ALA, and a 1st rd draft pick. - 11th overall pick.

Hootie would not have lasted long at LSU. He liked to smoke weed an the LSU administration along with Bo Bahansen would not have allowed it. It’s a proven fact that BAMA doesn’t care. Savion Smith come to mind. FWIW I hate BAMA as much as the next person but I agree with Saban’s philosophy on the weed part. It would not matter if the BAMA administration didn’t like his stance on this. Saban runs every aspect of the University of Alabama from his office. Including the academic side of the university

You aren’t wrong. Although I do feel like the staff should have recruited a lot more of these guys heavier than we did. Probably could have kept a few of them.

Just wait til Sophser commits to Bama...we all know it’s happening

LSU seems to be a step late with some of these local guys lately, it's well documented they missed on all the 2019 U high kids for whatever reason....right now there is Chris Hilton a 2021 wr from Zachary with offers from fl, a&m and AL but not LSU it seems like we should be the first offer.

5 for 5 was 2014. That was the Cam Robinson year. Willis went to Florida, Brown (out of state) went to Bama, and Speedy went to A&M. The only instate recruit that was a big lost that year was Cam Robinson.

I talk to big Phil daddy a couple weeks ago, and he said if LSU would of offered him when they came and got Lawerence, big Phil would of been at LSU. They waited too late to offer him.

2017 was probably the worst year for losing in-state recruits to Alabama, but it is noteworthy to mention this was a coaching changes year. Understandable losing a few in a transition year.
I think I was just trying to dispel the notion that Alabama comes to Louisiana every year and pillages and takes whomever it wants. This perception is not true. They get a couple here and there that we can’t replace. On average about 1 every other year becoming more frequent in recent years.

This has been well documented?
Also, can we wait and see how these kids do in college before we say it was a mistake not to recruit them?

Let me ask you what's worse? Making sure a local guy is definitely a take before offering, or offering anyone and everyone early and then pushing guys out of the class later if they don't end up developing?

Did Mathis get one snap against us? He could be getting quality PT for us. What a waste.

Duvall is an LB not WR and we absolutely wanted him. He was Bama from the get go do we did not push it.
