Maybe they can rerecruit him to stay. He's not a year away from having it right in front of his face. Puzzling

Well...this isn't entirely true. We're pretty deep in 2019. 2020 is where we get thin. It doesn't really make sense to transfer, though, since he'll have to sit a year anyway...unless he goes to juco.

That sucks. So in the last 2 classes we’ve landed Joseph Evans, Siaki Ika, Nelson Jenkins and Dominic Livingston on the Dline.

Cotton transferring
Rosenthal and Hines moved to Offense

Y'all keep saying it doesn't make sense. Maybe he has family issues. Maybe his grades slipped. Maybe the guy has a life and is dealing with things. Love my Tigers, but everything's not about what we want and what WE think makes sense and doesn't make sense for him. Y'all don't control his life and, like the rest of us, are on the outside looking in

Doesn’t necessarily mean he leaves, but this decision is a big ? mark. He could be really good. I’m not sure him staying his freshman year and being redshirted is really giving it his best effort. Staff should try and keep him. I don’t want him to be 1 of the 9 that leaves. If he does so be it we will survive.

We have never said anything that should be referenced as trying to control his life. We said it doesn’t make sense, from a pure football standpoint, and like you said it’s from the outside looking in.

I really can't believe some people are defending O and the staff on this one particular issue. Sure they have done some good things but my god we are in trouble in 2020 with depth. Davin Cotton was supposed to be good for us and would have been in the system 2 years

Everyone raved about how underrated he was in the 2018 class.

And how exactly doesn't it make sense from a football perspective? Explain.

At this point, LSU defensive line is starting to approach what QB recruiting has looked like for us for over a decade.

How the hell did this university go from 3 1st round picks, a 2nd and a 3rd round in reserve to struggling recruiting them now? Thanks Brick Haley. Damn I miss that 2011 line. Brockers, Mingo, Sam, Logan, Edwards, etc.

Because he's in line to contribute this upcoming season. A season he will have to sit out if he goes anywhere else in Div 1A.

Just the DL-depth and other factors. He was redshirted so he has another 4 years. Could easily be a starter his last 2 years here. He will almost definitely contribute this year regardless. If he leaves unless JUCO, he has to sit a year and he’s already burned his redshirt so that’s a wasted year. He’s a really good talent who just had injuries in high school. I think a lot of us on this board know he has strong potential, and would hate to see him leave after a redshirted season as a freshman. This is just football though, like you said could be grades, family, etc.

Maybe, but it's probably the best move for him to make. shite happens, and who's to say some other linemen wouldn't knock him off the depth chart? Not a knock against him but you never know what the future holds

See this makes sense to me. He has potential, just hoping everything goes well for him. It's amazing how ppl will go straight to the "maybe he can't compete/lacks chest argument (see the Davin Cotton is transfering article of you think I'm bs'ing)

You're calling people out for trying to "control his life". Nobody's trying to control his life. Everyone is simply saying from a football perspective, knowing what we know about the depth chart and his supposed potential, him transferring doesn't make sense.

Nobody's wishing ill on the guy and all that other shite you speculated about is obvious.

You're not getting downvoted because people can't hear the truth. It's because you're post is a complete overreaction.
