Why would we get a guy that can't play this fall?
Posted on 4/18/25 at 8:35 pm to wadewilson
Because more time exists in the universe than next fall

Okay, why would he come to LSU when he can't play here until 2026?

Forgot about the transfer rule in spring.

Kinda puts a damper on that, don't it

Am I correct in assuming he wants a bigger NIL payment? Or were there other issues?

He’s going to Miami so you don’t have to stress

If he is dumb enough to do it, he is a take.

Didn't know I was stressed.

Maybe I am wrong but I wonder if a lawsuit against the SEC would make this rule null and void. Seems like the courts have ruled in favor of the student athlete against the NCAA and the Conferences on most occasions. Of course law suits are expensive so would depend on who was willing to spend the money.

Per there fans he hasn't lived up to the hype and was running 3rd team dt this spring. Apparently Ou told him to take a nil paycut.

Yeah, that'd be neat. A couple dozen players can transfer SEC to SEC every summer and bring playbooks and knowledge of all the signage with them.
Unlimited NIL is horrible. Unlimited transfers are worse.
But playing for 1 SEC team in the spring and another in the fall - that could single-handedly destroy the conference.
Why would you even run anything from your playbook in spring if you knew any of your players could transfer to a team you're playing against that fall?
Then you gotta wait till fall camp to give your players the playbook and that would be a great fricking product on field I'm sure.

He is 4th or 5th in the OU DT rotation. Most likely wants to play more.

Could kick the tires for next year I suppose

So he could raise his price tag while building up for that new school in 2026.
