Kevin Hart, the kid who offered a scholarship to himself

First one that jumps out is Richardson on NSD
Once Montgomery committed that morning he called Richardson "Go to LSU" ...Richardson then called LSU coaches "I am coming"...and rumor went wild wild wild...
with in 2 hours, Saban sends AJ McCarron and few other Bama players to Florida to meet Richardson at his HS before faxing his papers
The message:
"you committed to coach, and you will honor your word"
Something along those lines...
Once Montgomery committed that morning he called Richardson "Go to LSU" ...Richardson then called LSU coaches "I am coming"...and rumor went wild wild wild...
with in 2 hours, Saban sends AJ McCarron and few other Bama players to Florida to meet Richardson at his HS before faxing his papers
The message:
"you committed to coach, and you will honor your word"
Something along those lines...

I remember hearing that Adoree' Jackson's father ran off with his LOI, refusing to sign it because he wanted Adoree' to go to another school (the rumor was LSU) instead of USC. He finally caved, and USC got his LOI faxed in the day after NSD

This shows that I am not a young whippersnapper, but I remember a football recruit who was attending an LSU basketball game when Dale Brown was the coach. I can't remember any of the names, but a star point guard made a 30 foot shot with seconds left to win the game for LSU. The recruit committed to LSU, and he said later that the exciting finish to the basketball game played a part in his decision. He said that it was a "sign" for him.
