6'1 225 said he would like to play both.

Myles Jack is a beast true freshman with 71 tackles, 10 PD, blocked punt/FF, 43 yard interception return on defense, and 37 carries 267 yards 7 TDs on offense.

We could get Fournette in on special situations at LB. I think the dude could be a monster two way player.

ETA: When I said two way, I meant RB and a special situation linebacker.

He could be, but Fournette is just too good of a prospect to risk getting hurt on a chop block. NEVVVEERRRR!

If he is considering playing lb to have a longer career, what makes you think he would be willing to play both ways?

I could see it. Let's look how les plays running backs he likes too keep them fresh. Now if hill comes back and magee is getting better by every snap that makes him the third option. Let's not forget Darrell William also he is a viable back/lber also. Both could push welter as a more athletic lber the day they step on campus.

Like duh ..... He's so good on defense that he will be the only one good enough to tackle himself on offense.

I don't think he would play both ways. he would get put into one or the other.

Pretty sure he will be RB if he is a tiger considering we haven't recruited many because of him.

If he is truly considering a switch to linebacker I would start to have some worries he may not be as much of an LSU lock as people say.

He could get hurt on offense, so I don't see your point. I was just thinking about it since he said he would like to. Maybe I shouldn't say two-way, more like RB and in on special plays when we could go 4 LBs.

No way!

Haven't you noticed that a lot of young guys are physically ready, but not mentally ready to play? RB is a simple position, but MLB is a complex position to learn. There is no room for part-timers at LB.

Peterson COULD have played offense. But no. Especially since miles like fresh legs @ RB.

The Mike Backer doesn't absolutely have to set the defense. The Strong safety could and I believe one has before.

That said, LF should be kept more fresh at LSU than any other place for his entry into the NFL. Playing both ways would merely wear him down and his carries would decrease exponentially(not really).

Anyway, a guy with LF's hype simply can't chose Mike over possible star RB. I love a good Minter and all but the big trophies and cash are given to the RBs along with the spotlight and he is going to shine there fer sure.
