They're baseball bros that are SCARED TO DEATH that men's basketball is about to reclaim the second notch on the totem pole at LSU among the fan base.

There is no logical reason to be opposed to a Wade rehire if you're an LSU basketball fan. He BY FAR had the best 5 year start in school history.

You've got a microscopic minority of the fan base that actually believe Wade was a rare bad actor and that recruiting has been clean for decades. They also believe in Santa and the tooth fairy. There's also a small percentage that are intentionally obtuse to how dirty basketball recruiting has been, using that as a reason to be anti Wade. The rest opposed to the rehire simply hate basketball for whatever reason. .

The animus toward the McMahon hire began early in his reign as basketball boss. This board never accepted him, even when it was still unsure how his leadership would unfold. I remember during the 2023 season, in just the fifth conference game the team played in the PMAC wearing a retro '70s style uniform. There were posts here saying the team "was coming dressed for a funeral." No fan support, even from the getgo.

Not true at all. In fact, McMahon won his first ever SEC contest (an upset against Arkansas) and I recall people being pumped up.

Only 16 more of those wins came over the next four seasons. That’s why we’re frustrated.

He was given more than a fair chance here. He simply lost too much.

All he need is a competitive roster, he's playing with house money to get it together. I believe in Will Wade. He woke up a sleeping giant when he first got hired.

I strongly disagree. There were plenty times where the fan base gave mcmahon the opportunity. And mcmahon proceeded to squander every opportunity he had. After starting 12-1 in and beating arkansas, the fan base was ready to fully accept him. How did he respond? By losing 14 in a row. Then the next season, you have a chance to build back fan support after an abysmal season, and you start the season off by getting beat at home by nicholls and then in your biggest non-conference home game, you get clapped by 15 against Kansas state. You then go into A&M and beat them once again giving fans hope, only to come back to BR to a good crowd and get beat by a mediocre vandy team. You then have a great game against ranked Kentucky and you once again have the fans right back in the palm of your hand. How did he respond? By losing by 20 at home to Mississippi State. He then finishes the season by once again getting your arse whipped at home in the NIT to North Texas. Go to 2024. Fans are hoping for moment building into the season. You have a great non-conference and start SEC play at home against vamderbilt once again with good fan support? How did they respond? By once again getting your arse whipped at home and then proceeding to go 1-10 to start SEC play. And then we all know how this past season went.

So save me the bullshite about mcmahon "never having fan support". The fans gave mcmahon their support time and time again over the 4 years, and every chance he had he fumbled it. Ive said it multiple times that mcmahon did not do a damn thing for fan or donor engagement. Couple that with losing nearly every game that fans showed out for and this is what you get. The one thing we as fans did have that maybe coaches of the past like Jones or Johnson didnt get was the expectation to make the NCAA tournament. And that expectation was set by wade bc he showed us that it was possible here.

Agreed…..It is BS just like when Dawn Cocky said that Nikki Cleopatra would have duplicated Kim Mulkey’s result, « ….if the fans would have supported her like Kim… »!

Woulda….Coulda….Shoulda is a pathetic
« raison d’être » that is a losers’ excuse
