Clemson CB Transfer Derion Kendrick

Clemson 1st Team All ACC CB, Derion Kendrick expected to enter the transfer portal. Former 5 Star and 2 year starter at CB for Clemson. Was somewhat of a surprise when he decided to return for his senior season and bypass the NFL draft.

Kendrick could be a solid option as the last addition to the 2021 class. Has 2 years of eligibility remaining.

Hes not that good, got burnt by OSU repeatedly in playoff game. PFF grades for him last 2 years have been mid to high 60s, he is leaving because he was in trouble there, not worth the headache.
We also arent looking for a CB in the portal, safety or TE.

He’s talented but the fact that Dabo kicked him off the team (reportedly due to drug issues) makes me of the opinion we should stay far away.

Dabo isn’t really the greatest judge of character himself. Theres been conflicting rumors as to why he’s leaving. Some are saying he was dismissed, some are saying it was a mutual parting of ways, and some are saying he is just leaving because he doesn’t want to be there anymore due to conflict with some of the staff. Nobody really knows right now apparently. I know he’d be a awesome addition to the Cb room with Stingley and Ricks. Probably a long shot and if the staff can reel in Kendall Daniels like they’re trying to then it’ll be a moot point. Just an intriguing name that I figured I’d share.

Don't get why people just want to use the last spot on anyone. Better players are going to pop up. Just like daniels just popped up

He was a 2 year starter on a playoff team and was 1st team all ACC pick by both the Media and PFF in 2020. Was 2nd team All ACC in 2019 and he’s a NFL Draft prospect. You can think about him whatever you want. He’s a good player and has had a good career up to this point. And I’m not even saying that he’s a guy you have to go get I’m just sharing the name of a pretty high profile guy that just hit the portal.

He was only an above average to decent player per PFF, again his grades were in the mid to high 60s. That's nothing special, certainly not worth the off field headaches for a position we're loaded at. Ricks and Stingley are both much better and thats what Kendrick plays, outside CB.

He won't start.
He basically got kicked out of clemson. That last scholarship is so valuable.
He is a very, very aggressive corner. If we had an outside spot open at corner id be more open to it.
