Admins: If this is a duplicative post, please remove...I scanned the other CJJ posts and didn't see the following information.
I heard reports in Jackson, MS this morning on a local sports talk station that Johnson has cancelled his visit to LSU. Is this true?
It was my understanding that he was waivering on coming to BR this weekend, but not that he decided to cancel?
Any news on this front...thanks?

Last I heard (like posted above) he was wavering, but let's give our recruiters some time to firm him up.

Im sure Nutt pressured him heavily to cancel the LSU visit fearing he'd be a slam dunk to LSU if he visited. I like our chances if we can get to him. Miles is "The Closer". Nutt knows this.
2 questions: Has he visited before? have we had an in home with him?

I won't believe it until Shea reports it..

Even if he was all ole miss. Wouldn't he come just for the heck of it. Just enjoy the free visit right?

Les had an in home with him last week that went well.

If you were coach Miles and fully knowing and understadning the situation. Would you promise CJ teh starting job at MLB if he commits?
I know that a huge risk. But after thinking about our options and seeing thsi kid ball. he could be an impact player like a Patrick Willis.

I would
We don't have anyone as good as him.

I do not see why a kid in his position would cancel a trip to LSU.
If he was going to cancel the trip to LSU, why not commit to Ole Miss.

This guy has played only against high school players. He may be a great prospect, but your statement is absolutely nuts.
IMHO, a coach should NEVER make such a promise to any recruit. Once there is a culture in a program that competition in practice does not determine who starts, big problems are on the way.

Does the Chief do much recruiting? Seems like his reputation as a LB coach would be a strong draw for Johnson to sign with LSU.

Name me a lb on the team who u think is better

I think Nutt is desperate right now and has probably promised him a starting position. Moreover, I am sure he is using the key MS talent in state deal on him as well...despite the fact that this is not what is best for the kid's long term career in all likelihood.
If CJ wants national exposure, like being an All-American LB playing on a team making at National Title run, he needs to come to LSU.

Per Parrish Alford
The Ole Miss Rivals site writes that Philadelphia linebacker C.J. Johnson did not commit but also said he was unsure if he'd take next week's scheduled visit to LSU.

I agree, promise them the chance to win the job.

Boosters from OM made it "attractive"
they have been smirky confident way before the recent visit.
Read what you want from that...
