I still have faith in Durham. His runs freshman year weren’t a fluke and he broke a ton of tackles.

I hope the bad year was due to the terrible offensive scheme and bad play-calling. We knew the offensive line was going to be a weakness and our offensive scheme + Nuss inability to push the ball down the field exacerbated it.

I don't have faith in Durham...I used to. His repetitive ankle and foot injuries are a concern. He has NOT shown quickness despite showing speed...NOT the same thing. Berry is both quick and fast...Durham only the latter. And I have dumped on the OL as much as anyone but i have seen SEVERAL instances where there was a hole, not where it was supposed to be, and he didn't see it. He doesn't see the LOS well...doesn't "run to daylight" well.

None of that is on the OL...that is on him for not doing better when the play isn't blocked where it is supposed to be blocked.

He was the best player on the Texas offense from what I saw. He would be a take IMO but he's more of big lumbering back, not sure if Lane would be interested or not.

I feel for Durham because he has ran the ball well at times but it’s hard to grade him because of our atrocious o-line. With that said, Berry ran the ball better behind that bad o-line…

But as Gings5 said, and I agree with him on this. The problem with blaming the OL for some of Durham's issues is that Berry beat him out for the #1 RB position and was more explosive when he was in the game. Same QB...same OL...did better. No, as I've said the 2 main reasons that Berry is better than Durham are:
1) he sees the LOS better and is able to find even a tiny hole that is not necessarily where it was designed to be
2) he is much quicker than Durham...NOT faster per se, but quicker. The time it takes for Berry to get to the LOS after the handoff is less than it take Durham. That is incredibly important when as everyone agrees, the OL isn't exactly going to be holding their blocks long...or holding the DL's jersey.
