Lynx is right, Michael is a little overrated. When he was a fringe rivals 100 player no one was obsessing over him. Then he goes to a camp, looks great in some drills, does some back flips and bam he's a 5 star and people shite their pants.

He's still a really good back, but we already have 2 others who will get it done. If he was really a 5 star, wouldn't Texas or OU or LSU have offered by now?

I have to agree. The kid is a really good player; he'll easily get a scholly to a good D-1 school. I think that’s easy to see. But the coaches obviously see something if UT, OU, and LSU are all holding back.

Nice try but I specifically stated that he is obviously a good player and will be playing at a D-1 school next year.
It’s just that, for the most part, we have been competing with schools like Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, etc., for recruits. We do not compete often with A&M, Oklahoma St, Texas Tech, etc.

He may very well be a commit come Monday. I just hope we have some of our other spots lined up first.

Lots of folks are and will remain on the CM until he loses his 5th star. Either way, he's still an outstanding recruit.

Yes he is. I wish I had that type of ability.

CM is a 5 star on the recruiting sites, but a 4 star in the eyes of the coaches.

he also said there was no shot Michael comes here.

Shea reported just last week or maybe the week before that it looked like Richardson was a long shot and that it was looking like Bama 100%. Now tonight he is saying he has some new news. Not knocking Shea, he does a great job. That is just how recruiting works. The sites arent always right.

Now as far as Michael, he is either A) totally oblivious and talking out his arse, or B)someone is lying to him. or C)the sites are out of hte loop on this one

Lynx i really respect your knowldge and recruiting insight. but i will have to say that calling CM over rated isnt fair. 1. he prroved his self and is still doing so. i know TR is lighting it up but so is CM. 2. as far as UT goes longhorn fans say mack brown has lost his edge a little bit. now i dont buy it but he is losing 2 out of the top 3 players in loston and shep not to mention lowe pratt macfarland michael. so texas is overlooking alot of great talent. ou just had a monster recruiting class at rb. texas am wants him. plus look at the names texas and ou have overlooked being star gazers. chase daniels todd reesing. quizzy rogers. and just to name a few. 3. i dont think many are bandwagon but it took him getting a 5th star and that extra exposure to get him the props he needs. personally i think both are where they need to be. TR is a SEC caliber rb that fits the mold in a 1 rb systems. ccan carry the rock 25 times a game. CM is more versitile can catch out of the back field and with deadly break away speed and agility. both will be used differently. i think R resembles ford personally. now i will take either one. but i would rather have the kid that wants to play in purple and gold. i feel if we miss him we will look back at less miles first recruiting miss.

Yes, just my opinion. He earned that ranking solely on an impressive camp performance. While camp performances are great, in game performances are more so.

Hasn't his on the field performances been great as well? I don't understand what standards he is being held to by you (and possibly others) as a five star RB, because he seems to be meeting them...

If he looks good in practice, and he looks good on the field, what more do you want from him? And if its just about the offers, he wouldn't be the first Texas kid that had great production and talent that didn't have the best offer sheet in the world.

At the time his ranking was released, he had not yet played a senior game. He was ranked solely off his camp performance.

He was not reevaluated in-between the camp and his senior season (thus far), thus Rivals will not/cannot change his ranking. It is their policy not to change a guys ranking unless they have seen him in person or have received new footage of him (whether you disagree with the policy or not is another issue -- thats just how they work).

He has had a solid year thus far, but I can GUARANTEE you that EVERY player in the top 50 has had a great year as well -- they should, they are a top 50 player in the NATION. Great stats only do so much for a players ranking.

He will definitely be a good player, I have never said differently, but I do not think he is a 5 star RB. I think he is a high 4 star. And yes, in recruiting ranking out of high school, there is a noticeable difference in talent level (A 5 star has the 'it' factor; I don't see 'it' in CM, although many of you apparently do).

I knew his name would be mentioned. MB is further along now in high school than most college QBs. He should be having better numbers than hes put up thus far, but his intangibles and skill set are hard to match, hence the #1 overall ranking.

(C). I've been saying/thinking this for a while. The sites don't know everything and hense many on here don't know everything that goes on behind the scenes. He may have just got a CO or he may have had it for a while.

As far as talent, you can grade these guys, but none can project who will have the better college career between TR and CM. A lot can happen over 4 years. I do know that It your running wild against top Texas competition, then your a true stud.

For those saying his ranking is legit, when was the last 5 star RB from Texas to not get an offer from UT, OU or LSU?

While all of this is going on....

Remember, we have three stud RBs. Just bringing up a point. If we don't get either one, we still have Ford, Pratt and Calhoun.

thats what I say. If TR is the shite, then bring him in the office first and tell him it is his if he wants it, but no guarantees after that. If he doesn't give, then call in CM and tell him the same.
