Clearly an easier path to playing time there. He didn't think he was good enough to crack the lineup at DBU.

Wonder if Jay Ward is an option. Seems as though we put him on the back burner. May not want to be part of this class now.

Credit Diaz, Rumph, and, most of all, Miami's shitty depth chart.

And Saban escapes from having the optics of a long-committed player flip to LSU... assuming Young stays the course with Gumpland.

I am. I was thinking we had Williams in the bag as far back as late Nov.

Maybe that's true, but if we lost him in the end he wasn't quite in the bag.

I would have LOVED to have Williams (safety by the way), but hopefully Ward can be brought on board now.

Didn’t rivals release an article like an hour ago predicting the remaining guys where they would sign? They had Williams to LSU.

Looked like pretty dated info, they didn't even mention Miami only Alabama.

Can't blame the kid. Wouldn't surprise me if Alabama helped facilitate Williams going with Miami in some form or fashion.

Williams would never start at corner over Stingley/Fulton or Stingley/Ricks.

He would probably be a safety here

lol, I can't resist...

"recruiting is fluid"

like methane and ethane at standard temperature and pressure fluid.

Yes, I'm making a joke using a worn out cliche.

Losing Williams is not a good sign if this is true.

Raymond was high on Ward, but I'm not sure he would be interested after being turned away. If he comes on board then Joseph can move back to safety.

Good luck to the young man.

On to the next one that wants to be a Tiger!

I figured this was going to happen when I heard last night. Kids don’t like competition and he won’t have nearly as much at a Miami. We will be just fine. Maybe press Jay Ward but our DBs are plenty deep.

What do you mean not a good sign? It's bad news, for sure, but are you insinuating that it's going to have an affect on other guys?

No offense to Jimmy, I like the guy, BUT wasn't he also saying 5 for 5 on the morning that turned out to be 2 for 5?

Not saying he is wrong but he has been wrong before.

If we miss out on a DB prospect that we could have had because we tried to get a better one and whiffed... O is going to get roasted by the fans and media.

Obviously the situations are different, but it would just be feeding fuel to the "I've seen this before. O will never learn his lesson" crowd.

I don't know if I would go that far. It would have been nice to pick up another good DB in this class.
