ahhh K staste you're absolutely correct. And i absolutely remember him having a couple big games with the Eagles. He broke off a few long runs, but he fumbled the football too much to stay on the field.

Im super happy for coaches and him if this is the case, he may have to take the Shelvin route. Im sure coaches are going to have to bring him along slowly and he may need some grounding but if he can be mentored by what im seeing from Chris curry, and like minded players on the team that will be awesome could change LSU and his future in a big way. If we don't get him I happy also.. it was meant to be. But he has tampered with the team and fan base so regardless he has some growing up to be but coach O seems like the guy that will forgive and make him a better dude.

Not that I can think of. However, part of this has to do with the 25 man roster restriction. I am sure that, back in the day, the Dawgs would have gladly accepted his LOI regardless of his grades.

Give him to TAMU so he can spread like a cancer within to that shite program under Jimbo. Keep them irrelevant please.

Not sure what's your point. Also, FYI, UGA has 12 RBs listed on their roster including Zameer White and James Cook. Evans would still have to compete with those two AND Kendall Milton. If he wants to go to UGA thinking that he will get PT right away, then he is day dreaming.

At this point with Evans I really don't give a frick! We'll get a top flight RB one way or another. This dude has trouble written all over him!
No doubt that we want Gibbs no matter what. But if he wants to sign with LSU and appears to have the right attitude about it, of course we should give him a shot. LSU's culture may be just what he needs for him to excel.
I also have no doubt that Jimbo would sign him in a heartbeat.
If he doesn't choose LSU, I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

if he signs with us, great... if he doesn't, that's okay too... i think he's sorta worn his welcome thin with a lot of fans, at various schools, and for his sake, i hope he lives up to the hype he's creating for himself, because if not, fans will be quick to let him know...

GIbbs isn’t coming it’s not even a guarantee he’s taking a visit here

Bunch of dumbass's that think we don't need Evans.
All of a sudden we are so good that we pass on elite talent ?
Big friggin deal he had disagreements with a Coach. Let me tell you, I played football for 18 years and I had a few sorry arse coaches along the way.
The kid has Fournette abilities, you really want to face him and Achane at aTm for 3 years ?
Are you brain damaged ?
You bring him in and you let the Coaches and veterans handle him.

What about when he flunks out (or gets arrested) and costs you a scholarship?

we don't "need" Evans... but, as with all elite talent, we could use him

Ed Orgeron is the type of coach that could keep Evans in line imo. He’s dealt with these kinds of guys before and I think he could keep Zach on the straight and narrow. If he ends up at A&M, he’ll fail spectacularly. Jimbo is not a disciplinarian, which is what he needs.

And you are right- Orgeron is one of the more successful guys and 'moderating' such attitudes. In fact he's good at re-focusing that attitude into a goal and a path to that goal.
IF Evans would talk to the right people, honestly and openly with no BS, like Orgeron, he just might discover the real business decision isn't in what others think of you, but what you do to be better than them. Quit worrying about the fame and celebrity of recruiting and go be a ball player. If that energy was focused into that, he'll get the 'rep' he wants.
But you are right, I think CEO can handle a player like Evans. Some of it will be discipline. Most of it will be re-focusing. Redirecting that energy and passion into being a stud player instead of a high profile recruit.
ETA: apologies for all the soapbox Evans threads. Simultaneously we're talking about Evans here and him wanting to be the 'high profile recruit' and in other threads we're discussing how much work Ty Crawford has been putting in to just get on LSU's team and make himself a better player. The dichotomy couldn't be greater. You have a recruit busting his arse to get to be a SEC level OT who wants nothing more to don the P&G vs. an elite talent pissing it away.

Evans is elite. I don’t know how he will manage college life/academics...I don’t know the kid. However, he’s a Todd Gurley clone. The kid can really play. He’s a legitimate top rb that can bust big plays and grind out yards. He’s got good feet, speed, and power. You take a kid like that. If he doesn’t make the cut, opens the door for another kid.
I believe he’s out of the question with the door opening for A&M now and we are going to focus on Gibbs and Hubbard, but I can’t see LSU turning him down.

Do people not realize UGA sent his papers to the conference. Evan's cant do shite unless UGA let's him out. You think they are going to do that so LSU can have him. Maybe aTm, or out of conference but not LSU. Evan's would have to sit a year otherwise. LSU isn't interested. Uga fans have no idea why nothing has happened yet, but they know he wont play for Smart.

quote:If that's true (and I do NOT believe it is, see other posts), UGA can't 'let him out'. Sure they can give him a release from his LOI... and he can sit out one year like everyone else granted release.

If that LOI was signed and recorded:
- he's a player, not a recruit
- other teams can not contact him
- he can not sign a second one, the conference would not accept it
- his recruitment is over

Not worried about this kid. If the staff wants to take a risk on him they get paid the big bucks. I just feel like he's toxic personal opinion. Maybe he'll prove me wrong.
