is size part of talent on the OL? b/c if so, then we didn't have great talent on the OL

The RECRUITMENT of our offensive linemen is not the issue.

i still don't get why the OP made this thread

we recruited a shite-ton of OL the past 3 years and have neglected RBs

even if we get lache, lache and gore don't look like every down backs, and assuming we use gonzo to develop the UF spread option, they will be the wingback-types. with small RBs, you need more of them

i bet at least 1 DL recuit is also moved to the OL

and I really think Jordan Allen could be an AA-type LT, so I think he eventually moves too. Or he could stay and be a big run-stuffing DE who plays opposite some of the smaller speed-rushers we have at DE.

I'm not completely agreeing with the OP, but I do think we have too many RBs in the '10 and '11 classes combined. Especially if you count Calhoun and Shep as RBs from the '09 class.

i think jordan allen has the built of an OT more than a DE, HOW-EVA

with collins and faulk, he might not play for years and years

Not really. Murphy has a year, Ford has 4 years, and so if you signed just two of the best RBs we'd be fine.

And we had how many RBs this year? Something like 5 and we were not fine by the end of the season. We lost 3 this year. We do have a need at that RB spot as well as O-line.

We took a lot of linemen in the classes of 08 and 09, whereas we haven't taken many RBs since 2006 when we took Keiland, CS, and Murphy all at once.

Pretty simple answer.

Now all we need is a O-Line coach to coach them instead of bringing them to his home for a bowl of chili. In the military, officers don't fraternize with the enlisted men. That's the quickest way to lose their respect.

I think we will be better this yr. there were no open spots on the line, hitt and ciron and barksdale were starting no matter what. No one was starting over dickson. I think they never panned on having lonergan start at center either.

This year all the spots are open. I also think having open competition will do wonders for our oline.

No, why would size be a consideration of talent? Size is a consideration of size.

LSU has lost a lot of oline commits over the past 4 years for various reasons. Nevertheless, we certainly need some improvement there. And a new coach there.
