Translation: Why are recruiting so many RBs when we need more offensive linemen?

Your sarcasm meter must be broke.

The fact is, we need rbs in this class. Please take a look at the depth chart before you post again.

We recruited 6 OL in 2008 and 5 in 2009. We already have commits from 2 OL for 2010, 1 of which is the top Jr in La and will likely be a top 5-10 national recruit in Collins.

I think we would be more than fine with 2 RBs from our current list of commits, 3 at most if we were able to get Seastrunk.

We have no depth and lose 3 RB's this year. We need RB's.

First, LOL at comparing a list of names that need to fill 5 positions on the field versus 1.

Secondly, as I said, I think we would be more than fine with 2 RBs from our current list of commits, 3 at most if we were able to get Seastrunk.

We have more than five times as many O-lineman on scholarship as we do running backs, so I'm not sure I follow the logic. Plus, running backs are more injury prone, and we always rotate them, so your 5 to 1 comparison overstates the point.

That said, I sort of understand where you're coming from. But in a given year (particularly this one), I don't think it's that shocking to see those numbers. It has to do with where we are currently thin, who we had a legitimate shot of signing, the O-line crop for next year, etc.

I hope you're counting on the RS freshman on this list to work miracles because the rest of these guys helped comprise of our piece of shite offensive line last year.
As opposed to all the true freshmen you want to sign and start next year?

Have you thought about the logic of your post? I think not.

Fact is, the o-line performed better, IMO, when Blackwell and Hurst were playing this year.

I don't care if there were points in the season that the o-line appeared to you to play slightly better than utter garbage, the fact is that the unit played like garbage the whole year and it is a huge concern. And supposedly we are losing one of the best OL in the nation out of that rag tag bunch. God help us.

Worle is a FB and it's possible Blue moves to LB and we don't get Lache at all.

Ware - Primary RB
Gore - 3rd down back
Worle - FB
Blue - WR/LB

At the moment I only see two true half backs with Ware and Gore. 3 if we get Seastrunk, which doesn't look like it's going to happen...

None of these guys was a 5-star, and say what you will but all the other top SEC schools have far better offensive line stables. In fact, Miles has never once recruited a 5-star true offensive lineman in his time at LSU. Is it just me, or does it seems absurd that a supposedly top 10 program hasn't been able to recruit a 5-star OL in 5 years, despite having a coach that is supposedly a o-line guy?

Please -- ALT+F4. It doesn't matter if he's a 4* or a 5*, we're after quality recruits. Compare our recruiting on the OL to Alabama for example.. you will see that our recruits have a few things in common.

Alabama 2010, 2009, 2008:
5* - 2
4* - 4
3* - 6

LSU 2010, 2009, 2008: (Also lost 4* Hardrick)
5* - 0
4* - 6
3* - 6

Absolutely. You see the recruiting coordinator known simply as "the Yano" has been holding secret meetings at his house with roughly a half dozen 5.46 star oline recruits. He has a buffet prepared every time with a plethera of culinary awesomeness from every corner of the earth. We actually have 4 silent committs b/c of this and they will round out the remaining spots in the class. I am also ASTOUNDED that are coaching staff would want players like Gore, Ware, and Blue. There is a chance they will all take greyshirts. And don't even get me started on that Seastrunk character. I heard he voted for obama. So in summation, the perception that we have "Only 3 O-linemen who have an average 3.66* rating" is false, and hopefully an admin will snipe your thread before anybody else is exposed to this asinine bullshite you twat waffle.

So? On rivals there are only 3 5* OL recruits this year. 1 from Mn, 1 form NC and 1 from Ms.

FWIW La'el Collins a 2011 LSU commit will be a 5*

All of you lemmings can keep putting your stock in Miles ability to recruit decent OL, hope that last years underclassman step up the next year, and etc but here are the facts:

2007: 26th rated offense, 66th sacks allowed
2008: 55th rated offense, 45th sacks allowed
2009: 112th rated offense, 105th sacks allowed

People love to focus on QB, RB, offensive playcalling, or whatever, but the bottom line is that our eroding offensive line is what has been root cause of this.

Michael Ford RB 5-10 207 Fr. HS
Richard Murphy RB 6-1 204 Jr. 2L

did ridley die and/or transfer?

If you want to bitch about the O-line go to the Rant.

hope that last years underclassman step up the next year

Not much different than hoping we sign 5 lineman this year and that they magically are awesome and contribute next year especially when you seem to have no faith in Miles ability to recruit anyone good. So if that is true why even bother caring.

Lemmings? You're the one using ordinal rankings. Instead, how about providing the offensive rankings in context -- perhaps the SEC? Our 2007, 2008 offenses both averaged over 30 PPG. Both of those offenses were good.

Alabama 2010, 2009, 2008:
5* - 2
4* - 4
3* - 6

LSU 2010, 2009, 2008: (Also lost 4* Hardrick)
5* - 0
4* - 6
3* - 6

So please explain to me how you can bitch about this topic. Moron

I don't think enod cares about 2011 - I read somewhere that BAMA has 2 5*s OL and Florida Has 3 5* OL and that is only this WEEK!!!!
