Cam Cameron was at the La Superdome and witnessed Gatorade's player of the year in La, Lindsey Scott, dismantle what many consider one of the best defensive teams in Louisiana. Zachary's coach claims Scott is one of the smartest QB's to ever play in La. BR's Catholic High coach Dale Weiner called Scott an outstanding athlete. These two coaches have seen a lot of great athletes as players and coaches, and they also have seen what Scott has been doing to La defenses all season, he's been unstoppable.

What effect this all has on Cam remains to be seen. The real question is, can LSU afford to ignore such a multi talented QB like Lindsey Scott, whose high school coach claims has a football IQ that is off the charts? With LSU's coaching staff grasping for answers to improve their offense, it would seem like a ridiculous move to ignore such a QB like Scott. I really hope LSU signs this young man from Zachary, LSU fans wouldn't regret it.

I'm all for giving him an offer, cant really hurt. Redshirt him for a year, then open things up when he's a redshirt sophomore between him and McMillian a redshirt junior with whatever 2017 QB(s) they'll be competing with.

Zachary's coach doesn't know a fraction of the other QB's who have played. Zachary's coach played for Weiner so I am sure their is a little bias there. I wouldn't take the guy just yet but if we have some space towards the end I would give him an offer. Who knows maybe they don't want McMillan 2.0

At this point we have no QBs...so bring him in. Would be a giant mistake to not take at least one in this class.

This would be a smart offer at this point.

Reality of it all is all the good QB's out there highly rated are committed and offering Scott who has a football IQ is the move.

To not take this QB in the class is not smart

Franks, Haskins are not coming here.

Can he read a defense and get the ball to his receivers? I'm so sick of "potential" and "frame." Completing passes has to be a basic standard for all QB recruits. I think this kid has it all. Give him a damn shot. What do we have to lose?

Weiner's opinion comes from seeing Zachary's Lindsey Scott shred his state champion team's defense earlier in the year. LSU needs to offer a scholly to this young man now, don't disrespect him by waiting the very last minute.

He's a smart offer if Haskins or the kid committed to Louisville that they started pursuing don't work out. The fact is, he has several offers, but all to smaller programs except for State. He is still committed to Syracuse at the moment, but do you really think he will turn down an LSU offer if it comes next month after the dead period? If not, then there is no reason to make the offer today and jeopardize a shot at a potential higher impact, lower risk player.

bullshite top programs offer more than one Qb all the time and if a higher rated qb is scared off by Scott than so be it. Florida still going after Eason eventhough they have Frank's is what big programs do.

So we need 6 freaking scholarship QBs next year? What happens if we offer Scott and then Haskins flips as well? Do we end up on another damn ESPN OTL special for pulling offers, or do we take both and fill valuable spots needed elsewhere, with 2 guys (McMillan and Scott) being projects? Some of you guys fail to take the longer view.

We do not need to take 2 QBs this year. We need 1, with 1 or 2 next year. As for Scott, it's clear he is an FBS level talent, at least as an athlete. However, you LA homers need to face the fact that he isn't the best available, and he IS currently a backup plan. It's as simple as that.

LSU needs haskins. He's the only QB that really makes sense if miles wants match the offense to the QB.

I agree completely. If we were running the spread option, Scott would likely already have an offer.

Unfortunately, Miles and Cam haven't seemed to be as interested in pocket passers since Mett. I'll never understand why they basically chased Rettig off when he was probably better prepared to run an SEC offense than Jennings was in spring of 2014.

I honestly do not understand taking Oden over Scott.

Oden is not better than Scott.

Scott reminds me of a smarter Herb Tyler. Perhaps the most underappreciated QB in LSU history. Simply put, if Tyler was on this year's talented team, we'd be in the NC group of four.

Give Scott an offer and make the offense fit. As for his size, Drew Bree's says hello.

Wasn't people screaming for Jordan Jefferson after his performance in the dome?

I'm pulling for him and it has nothing to do with his performance in the dome. The kid has been dominant the last two years in LA's highest class.

Scott signing with LSU would be meaningless for LSU and a bad career move for Scott. He would never ever play a single down, imo. I wish things were different, but Les is still less in the QB development department.
