He mightve been a priority but not a high one. Looking at the Maryland CBs and and OU CB.

He was believed to be an OU lean before he released his top 8. The Maryland CB was just based on gut feeling.

Hank and Tim have said this whole cycle that Johnson is a big priority for Alabama

Does anyone on here think that if Bama got a commitment from a higher rated guy that they wouldnt process a lower rated guy... asking for a friend.

The CB tells me that they want to take Malcolm. In most cases if your taking the lower priority guy over the higher priority guy you'd have to be on the short side of the stick for the higher priority guy.

I am pretty sure they consider, Malcolm Johnson, Brian Thomas, and Xavier worthy(committed to Michigan, but they think they could flip) as pretty much equal atop there recruiting board. They would take any commit of any of them wanted to. I personally think Thomas is the best and think he rolls with LSU

Nothing. If they take Malcolm they will continue to push for Brian Thomas

Although this may be true, it would certainly have to have an impact from Brian Thomas’s perspective. 5 WR is a crowded arse class

If you didn’t understand the absolute elite talent Brian Thomas Jr is, you wouldn’t be posting in this thread. No doubt Johnson is a good wr, but there is a vast difference between the two

I understand that but Thomas is extremely similar to two of our WR commits. Johnson compliments them better.

If he’s truly the #2 WR then it shouldn’t matter to him.

This has absolutely nothing to do with Brian Thomas. If he decides he wants to go to the gumps they wouldn’t turn him down

I have seen anyone say that they wouldn't take him.
The reasons it is relative to Thomas have been stated in this thread numerous times. Class numbers and trends in recruitments that attentive recruiting heads pick up on. Those 2 things are pieces of the puzzles these recruiting "experts" use to make their CB picks and give their "insider" info.

That’s just dumb, like I’ve never followed recruiting dumb. There are tons on examples of teams taking a player who is slightly lower ranked and not because they missed. I’m not talking about a 5* vs 3* but comparable recruits.

I'm not saying Malcolm is the lower priority recruit due to his ranking, im saying he's the lower priority recruit due most believing Thomas is the better wr. Now I have no clue how Bama's board looks and if they have Malcolm right there with Brian due to how we would complement their other commits but if were talking about strictly who is the better wr the answer is BTJ.

Just can’t see how Thomas being from Walker hasn’t already committed to us

Vol said this about Maason Smith, key word is announcing. While I dont think he has yet, he may commit and not say anything.

Which is similar to Thomas in physical stature?
Using your criteria, Which receiver on LSU's roster isn't similar to others.
They are all extremely athletic, have good hands, and good/great speed.
The players certainly aren't the same height and neither are the recruits.
Marshall and Thomas seem to be the same height and speed, but Marshall probably will probably leave after this season.

Johnson Jr. and Thomas Jr. have both been priority targets for Bama this cycle

Bama is clearly settling if they take a commitment from MJJ. They have been on BTJ for quite some time. He has been mocked on Bama boards. Hell, Julio Jones didnt call MJJ within the last month, but (hopefully) he did waste his time on BTJ
