As anticipated, he’s truly building a foundation with guys that buy into it but focusing on the homegrown talent that have grown up LSU fans as well. Makes a difference

He doesn't want cancer. You can read that as him saying he doesn't want blue chip divas who only use LSU as stepping stones for NFL. In reality, he knows the importance to high end players. He's saying if you're high end talent you need to meet a culture fit within the program and are unselfish which is the absolute right mindset to go about. There's plenty of high end talent that's good teammates and aren't divas.

Deion is the new coach O. Deion says he does not want kids worried about NIL, he wants kids worried about NFL.

I heard the word academics one time in Deions speech to his players

I don't agree. I think he will pump major energy into that program.

As long as he hires a good staff he will be fine.

Nope, he will be the exact opposite. I see him crushing it there and installing a great culture. How in the world could anybody watch that meeting with the Colorado team and not see that he is all about business and doing the right things.

He'll be fine at Colorado, but fail in epic fashion at any more successful p5 team. He'll bring in decent recruits but ultimately it's building a program where he'll probably not be as successful.

What he’s saying is the want guys who really want to buy into the LSU program…not guy just entering the portal to leverage a big “free agent contract”.

if you paid attention more and actually think about what he'd said, you'd understand. He doesn't want the locker room cancer that NIL brings. He's saying, don't worry about the highest bidder when the desired end result is a career in the NFL. You'll get paid when you prove yourself. He wants to win and he's going to need the NFL level players to do that. He's going to need the kids that have the want to and the desire to be the best.

While Ed O was more of the let loose, do whatever you want (phones everywhere, dress however, music playing loudly outside the weight room and practice fields), Deion is more like BK in that he wants the kids to treat this like a respectable institution and not be slouchy.

To OP, BK is doing the right thing. This is how you build a great program without a lot of drama.

I agree. Wasn’t he a 2-sport winner? Seems like he would know what it takes.

Nah, that HBCU shite won’t work in P5 football. He outclassed SWAC on superior talent. Won’t happen

He is not looking to have LSU leveraged by “free agent” shopping services for NIL money.

He is looking for kids who want to play at LSU and is interested in the opportunity playing for LSU can offer.

What hbcu shite?

His players wouldn't start if they didn't study film and keep up with academics, just like brian kelly.

I can tell you first hand that he better understand and be careful- some of the things he did and said while at JSU will not be tolerated on a bigger stage.
