LSU has more players in the NFL than any other college program.
Not too sure about this comment..
We go back and forth between #1 and #3 every year or so depending on free agents, retirement, injuries, and the draft .
The last figure I had was 44, but we just send 13 guys towards the draft...
We're still near the top
JR is back too

I think Harris will enjoy his visit to Auburn but my guess is Auburn comes in 2nd. I'm not worried about Jennings having good potential like I am with Rettig. IF I knew that Jennings and Rettig would pan out, I wouldn't even offer a QB this year if I was LSU. The old statement about "you can never have too much depth" does NOT apply to QB. Notre Dame and Texas and BYU and others have been revolving doors for QBs lately. If you end up being like 3rd on the depth chart, you then inform the coach you are transferring. QB is a different animal compared to every other position on the football team. They SAY they want the competition to make them better, but they REALLY mean "I want the competition to push ME to make ME a better starter."
Anyway, if Harris picks LSU, great...if not, that is not a huge disappointment to me. That would free up 1 scholly for other important positions like the secondary, the WRs, and the DL.
Addition on the Texas deal: Shall we go back and rerank the Longhorn recent classes where they got 2 HIGHLY rated QBs and neither of them stayed very long there. Remember the Gilbert guy....gone after 1 year on the field and went to TCU or SMU I think. Then, a few days ago, the hot shot Connor Brewer from Arizona after 1 year at Texas informed Coach Mack that he is transferring. Everybody on the planet offered Brewer I think so he should have no trouble transferring.

i'd bet my salary Harris ends up at LSU… we KNOW we need a QB, and there's nothing really left out there, so i fully expect Miles to make him a priority, and considering we don't know exactly what type of offense we will have, it's not like he can compare LSU to Auburn in terms of systems quite yet…
sure he may love Auburn's offense, but i'm confident smarter people than him will tell him to look at the bigger picture, and he ends up in purple and gold, in the end...

Based off of today, we're not getting Harris, Fournette, OR Robinson's sister.

it don't get no more important that QB, chief…
and if you look at it right now, all of our eggs are in Harris' basket… period… there's really nothing else out there….
Isom, maybe…. Gibson, the longshot…
Harris is an absolute MUST GET, due to the position, talent, and lack of suitable replacement options...

Disagree with your assumption that QB is always an important position IN RECRUITING which was my point. If you sign two highly rated QB in 2013, you do NOT have to sign a QB in 2014.
Harris is not remotely a "must get". He is a "nice to have". I think he is worth a scholarship but once again, recruiting is not done in isolation of a year. You look at what you did last year and the year before last in recruiting. LSU signed 2 QBs last year as I said.

It wasn't a knock or anything..actually a compliment...keep up the good work bro

I believe Brandon Harris is going to be a heck of a QB and not just because of his physical talent.
He really showed a lot of class and maturity when his opportunity to be the lone QB recruit at A&M was kind of sniped.
It will be tough to pull against him wherever he ends up.

Sniped as in the QB from Arizona committed a couple of days before Brandon Harris was scheduled to visit.
I was attempting to say something positive about a young man, not being an azzhole.

Well our backup plan to Harris, White, just left Auburn without an offer, but says we could offer in a few days. That, combined with what our mods have said, makes me think the race for Harris is neck and neck right now. Not changing my prediction though, I think LSU wins in a close one

Thanks, I took it as a compliment. I was on this board quite a while ago but only had one userid then also. You and I got along fine then also BTW.
